Mission: Oregon student foundation is oregon student association's (osa) 501(c)(3) related organization that provides the additional support that the student led osa needs to ensure that every oregonian has access to a quality, affordable education.
Programs: Vote or vote: our leadership development work contributed to our goal of registering students this election cycle and osf's vote or vote program registered over 24,000 students to vote at nearly 17 college campuses across oregon in 2018.
northwest student leadership conference: this was a 300 person conference that brought together students from wa, id, and oregon to discuss and learn methods of leadership that will assist them in their roles on campus. This conference provided 60-70 workshops to choose from. The topics ranged from how to run an effective student government to the organizing history of the student movement in the united states. Lead students were taught to give workshops, and outside, 50 presenters were recruited to assist in the event.
oregon students of color conference: the oregon student association had 500 students at our oregon students of color conference. This conference was focused on racial justice and how racial equity on our college campuses can increase graduation rates of students of color. Our lead students were taught to give workshops and osf brought in an additional 75 outside presenters for students to choose from. Workshop subjects ranged from financial aid to social justice topics. The evaluations we received told us, "this was the best conference i have ever been to and "i learned so much about my own community. " other said "i am learning to be an ally and oscc has been eye-opening. "
the goal of oregon student equal rights alliance symposium is to politicize lgbtq college students around issues affecting them and increase their ability to advocate for an affordable, quality, and safe college education. This conference prioritizes the needs, voices, and issues of lgbtq students while challenging societal norms around gender identity and sexual orientation. The confrence provides pportunity to queer and trans students to come together and learn in ways that are often not provided on individual campuses due to lack of support and resources.
