I have been rescuing cats and kittens at my country home for 18 years and I have surrendered many of them that were adoptable to the APL in Elyria Ohio...but I have had cats dumped on my road and neighbors throw them out deciding they don't want a cat anymore and now I have a growing population of kittens and I spend outrageous money on giant bags of cat food and canned food and flea viles and emergency vet bills and kitty litter but there isn't a single person in Lorain county or any organization that can help me trap neuter and return these cats...they want $35 to rent their cage at the APL in Elyria and you can only put one cat per cage and they want $35 to spay and neuter them... I am a divorced woman left with her house and I have a disability income along with a small pension and I simply cannot afford to spay and neuter as many cats as I have at my house now...I have a huge back porch with a roof and I enclosed it and put electric heater out there for warmth and shelter... I cannot adopt out the kittens because they still run from me and I have a mama with her six kittens in a kitty cage so that I can at least adopt out those kittens... I let the mama in and out during feeding times...but I am so sick and tired of nobody being able to help me and all of Lorain county or Oberlin and Elyria wants me to pay... And every time I'm able to surrender a bunch of cats to the APL in Elyria and I think I'm weeding them out a little bit... Here comes more kittens and a couple of the cats kept their kittens in an old garbage dump bar next door so I wasn't able to get them used to people to adopt them out and I have a real dilemma on my hands and I have not been able to find any help... I have contacted the Humane Society in Columbus now and the Lorain county commissioners and the commissioners were supposed to call me back after digging around to try and find me some kind of help and they never called me back... This is ridiculous that everybody cares so much for animals and I'm stuck with this problem because I care for the critters... Do you have any suggestions or advice for me... You may contact me at dakotasue03@gmail.com
Incredible sanctuary. Jamie is one of a kind. I sponsor several kitties & never have to question as to their care. A top notch place!
Opkit is an amazing organization that I am proud to be affiliated with and support 100%. My first experience was as a cat foster for Opkit in 2013. Impressed with the work they were doing to save cats in high-kill shelters I joined in as an Opkit member. Members would donate funds as a group which would then be sent to cat rescues so that necessary vetting could be done, resulting in hundreds of cats being saved throughout the nation. It was so satisfying to see that we were making a difference in cats' lives. Opkit's good works continued when it founded the Tails Up No-Kill Animal Haven in northern Florida, providing a safe home, love, and medical care for life to its resident cats, dogs, and horse. I have been a monthly sponsor of one resident kitty since its opening and enjoy all the photos and progress reports we receive about day to day life at this beautiful sanctuary. It meant enough to me to try to move nearby to help out upon my retirement in 2017. I now volunteer at Tails Up and see for myself the love and care these lucky souls receive. Being around those dear animals is such a comfort and I'm blessed to be able to help out when I can. It also drives home just how much work is involved and I am so impressed by Jamie's amazing dedication to these precious animals; it is truly a labor of love. One year ago I became a Board Member and am honored to be involved with such an amazing organization. So to sum it all up, I've been a foster, donor, sponsor, volunteer, transporter, board member, and am currently fostering another kitty saved through Opkit's efforts. I have taken this journey with Opkit because I believe in it, and have seen the difference that has been made in these animals' lives first hand. I know of the dedication and effort that is involved and have the utmost respect and admiration for its founder Jamie, who is one of the most ethical, caring, and dedicated persons I know. I am proud to be associated with Opkit and look forward to many more years of involvement with their endeavors. They are making such a huge difference in cats lives.
Jamie is an amazing person and avid animal lover. Her cats are well protected and each group has their own house to stay in. She also accommodated for any severe storms that may blow in. The animals are very well taken care of and get whatever they need to live a happy life.
With your help OPKIT helps save lives across the country!

OPKIT has saved hundreds of lives. I have been a member since day one and still can't believe how much we have grown in just 2 years. Lack of funding is a huge problem for many rescues. OPKIT helps make it possible for rescues to save kittens and cats that would otherwise be killed. There are many hearts beating today that wouldn't be without our help.
This is a fantastic rescue helping kitties live their best life relaxing in comfortable surroundings knowing that they are loved! What I especially like about Opkit is that they help the innocent older cats that are often forgotten about in shelters. Thank you for all you do!
Jamie is an awesome caregiver for all the fur babies in her care. She started this sanctuary several years ago and goes above and beyond to see that each animal receives the love and care they need and deserve. I help sponsor some of the kitties in her care. She lets us know how they're doing with updates and photos. Sounds like a great place to be living!

OPKIT does amazing things from helping kitties in shelters to taking care of kitties in their sanctuary. They work tirelessly everyday taking care of the needs of their kitty "charges." They even have a few rescued dogs and a rescued horse at the sanctuary. THey really do all they can to stretch every donated dollar.

The founder and members of OPKIT are some of the most caring, compassionate and people that I have met both on and off the internet. The founder and her well-chosen (for their compassion and commitment to kitty kind) administrators are level-headed and do all that they can to see that even the mot homely, needy cats get some notice and a happy resolution to their predicament, hopefully, in the form of a cozy furrever lap. I am so proud of being a part of this group. What they can do through networking and very little money is simply extraordinary. The founder and her son have built this sanctuary literally from the ground up through sweat, tears and sore muscles and sometimes, even, broken hearts. I am so glad that my life and the lives of so many wonderful donors/volunteers (but most importantly cats) have been touched by this lovely lady and her close, well-chosen CADRE of CAT CARETAKERS.
OPKIT In a word? A M A Z I N G!!!!!!!!! >^..^
I have supported this great non profit sanctuary and rescue since 2014. Not only have over 2000 cats been rescued from kill shelter with pledges but this sanctuary has rescued and now houses over 60 cats - many special needs- 3 rescued dogs and a horse! It is very well maintained and the animals thrive here with great care and Love !!

I have been involved with this excellent organization for well over a year! The founder and members are outstanding people who want to save cats!! It is unique in structure as it allows members to pledge small amounts so that one bigger pledge can be made on death row cats and the rescue KNOW that they will be receiving much needed funds to pull and vet their rescues!! Over 1400 cats have been saved !! The founder lives at the beautiful sanctuary where the cats are well taken care of and happy ! It is ashame that people who really don't know what they are talking about are trying to slam this organization . It must be for attention and it is certainly sad. We just want to save cats!!! So Opkit let's move forward and Rescue On
Very caring, no-kill multi-animal Sanctuary run by a powerhouse of a leader - a saint in the making!
Gina McC/Kadybelle95: you talk about other critics and detractors like they are legion. There are about three, all of whom are just about as credible as you. It is totally your fault that you did not bother to find out, or did not comprehend, how OPKIT functions as an organization and therefore your fault that your unrealistic expectations were not met. You were and are all about the $, not about the welfare of the animal. Please get off your sanctimonious high horse since your motivations are obvious.

I am a cat who inexplicably found myself in my rural county's small, outdated, underfunded, high-kill shelter. Because I am not a cuddly kitten, not a purebred, not particularly pretty, and was scared out of my mind, I was facing imminent death. By some miracle, OPKIT saw my shelter photo and realized that mine was a life worth saving. OPKIT members made pledges for me totaling enough to get the attention of a rescue group that took me out of that wretched hell and found me a loving, forever home. By securing pledges from its members and offering these sums to rescue groups, OPKIT has saved many death row cats across the country, without fanfare, publicity or recognition of any kind. Please support this purrfectly wonderful organization. =^.^=
Kadybelle: You refer to your name being published by someone, yet you posted a review with your full name and your picture originally, so you were actually the person who published your name, just to clarify, since you seem to be confused. What you have been posting here are not reviews, but slander and utter nonsense. Since you are so confused, let me help you out. Adoption and Foster are two different things. The definition of adoption is as follows:
1. To take on the legal responsibilities as parent of (a child that is not one's biological child).
2. To become the owner or caretaker of (a pet, especially one from a shelter).
The definition of Foster is:
To take care of a child or pet as if it were your own, usually for a limited time, without being the child’s legal parent or the pet's legal or permanent owner.
If you chose to adopt a cat that was pending rescue, in doing so you took on full financial responsibility of said pet, including medical costs and fees to pull the animal from the shelter. In most rescue organizations, pledges are paid and used for these purposes. When an animal has its full amount needed in pledges, and is then adopted, those pledges are then moved to another animal or pet in need since the original pet no longer needs the funding due to being LEGALLY ADOPTED. If any donor was to ask for their pledge back, the rescue will gladly refund that pledge, but doing something like that is quite counter-intuitive if you are in it for the animal, which it seems that you are not.
You made a verbal contract to FOSTER an animal, and then breached that contract in legally adopting the animal. You should not receive any compensation since you are the one who made the decision to take on the financial responsibility for said animal. Your continued harassment is unwarranted and is just serving to make you look like you are not in rescue for the sake of the animals, but to try and make yourself look good. What exactly do you expect to gain by trying to slander a group that rescues thousands of cats per year? I would recommend that you move on. You are attempting to tarnish a name of a 5 star non profit because of what?
And please before you do any other reviews, learn some punctuation, and check out a dictionary. Trying to read that gobbledygook that you call a review is nauseating and quite an embarrassment for you, dear.
I have been a member of OPKIT for several years now and seeing all the great work this group does makes me feel so good. Helping cats that would either be starving to death or dead today, that are thriving and happy makes my day. The sanctuary cats all think they are kings and queens and seem to have forgotten their previous lives. If I was a cat in need, I sure hope this group would rescue me. Adopt a kitty in need!!
My first experience with OPKIT was as a foster for two cats whose rescue was coordinated and made possible by OPKIT in 2013. I was extremely impressed after learning more about the organization and felt compelled to help more. I have been a regular donor since then. OPKIT is unique in that its members pledge donations to save cats in underserved, high-kill shelters. The donations are then paid within two days of rescue as a lump sum to the rescue that saves those cats making it possible for the rescue to pull and vet the cats. There is complete transparency. All of those funds go directly to the rescues, not to any member of OPKIT, adopters, or the sanctuary. I donate with complete confidence and see exactly what is done with my donations. In addition to donating to rescue efforts, I am also pleased to donate to the sanctuary OPKIT operates. I am proud and honored to be affiliated with such a wonderful organization. Over 1400 cats are alive, healthy, and happy today thanks to the efforts and generosity of the compassionate members of OPKIT. Sadly in rescue there are some misguided and vindictive people whose mission is to spread lies and rumors in an attempt to defame others. OPKIT's reviews are overwhelmingly positive because they are honest, ethical, compassionate, and do good work. Any malicious review is without merit and should be discounted as the work of a spiteful person that doesn't realize that in making such claims the ones who will suffer are the cats facing death in shelters. While they are busy with their smear campaign, OPKIT is busy saving cats' lives.

OPKit is an amazing organization! They sponsor cats in underserved & high-kill shelters countrywide, sending the rescuing organization their pledge within 2 days making it possible to save cats that would otherwise stand no chance. They also have a new sanctuary that is giving desperate cats a safe home & chance for adoption. They are very transparent & I have complete confidence when I donate to their rescue efforts. I love OPKIT!
Wonderful group !!!! I'm PROUD to join this group.

Although that I live in the Netherlands, I'm very proud to be a member of this group. I believe in what the group is doing and although that I can only pledge in many projects of Opkit when I'm able to, I really wish I could do more. I'm happy though I could be part of saving a precious life at a time. Go for it Opkit !!!
I have been involved with OPKIT for a very long time. The time and effort put into making this sanctuary a great and wonderful place for the little ones far exceeds expectations. The monies raised and donated for helping save the lives of the little ones is most definitely explained and shown where it has been used. Jamie also always asks for donations prior to making any commitments to help any little one. It is a team effort. Now who ever this Gina Mcwhoever is I would seriously like to know where she seems to have found this dirt she is dishing. Maybe she should learn to "volunteer" instead of just saying she is a volunteer. She knows nothing of the workings of OPKIT. The transparency of this non profit is above reproach. I personally find her remarks to be made out of jealously, envy, or revenge for not being able to achieve the goals that OPKIT headed by
Jamie has.
I've had the privilege of participating in transporting cats to the sanctuary, so I've been there and seen it. It is beautiful. The cats are happy and well cared for. I also fostered cats for the sanctuary. OPKIT offered to reimburse me for all my expenses, but I refused the offer and considered it a donation. My actual face-to-face and online experiences with OPKIT have all been very positive.
My friend introduced me to Opkit. I have been a donor for over 6 months. Anytime I asked questions I was always given answers and transparency. I've remarked on several occasions that this group of donors are more like a family and their dedication to raising funds to save animals who have no one else in their corner is truly remarkable and unprecedented. Plus it is not just one locale that benefits - it is the whole country as animals are saved across the whole USA from their sponsorships. That is why I belong - there is no other organization that does what Opkit does.

I joined OPKIT through a friend who is very passionate about horses and cats in particular. I knew this must be a great organization but the more I became involved and saw how much is accomplished with so little I knew I was part of an extraordinary organization that's saving felines one kitten/cat at a time from being killed! The members who reside all over the US are like one big family. I've not encountered such dedication and enthusiasm in other nonprofits I have volunteered at. The organization's founder saw a need and created a support group to fill the void of rescue groups having to track down pledgees are get into financial hardship because pledgees don't pay. This organization guarantees the money to the rescue group. And now they've built a cat sanctuary to take in those cats that do not get rescued. Many people might question why donate when I should donate to a shelter near my home - the answer is that this organization rescues felines all across the US that are in danger of being put to sleep in high kill shelters. These felines are the most vulnerable and truly at the end of their options. That is why I support OPKIT and will continue to do so in every way possible!
I love this group. It does not matter where an animal is or what it needs if we can not get help for it they step in and make sure it receives everything it needs. I live in a very rural area and have worked in Rescue for many years and it gets harder everyday to find placement for abandoned animals and if we can not find financial support from individuals to get an animal into Rescue they have stepped in time and time again to pay for testing, spays And neuters in order to get an animal into rescue.
I am the founder and CEO of OPKIT. In the 2.5 years since we started, we have donated over $100K to rescue groups who save cats from high kill shelters all over the country. We have worked with 100's of rescue groups, fosters, volunteers and cat lovers over the years. Along the way, some people have not always agreed with decisions that I have had to make, and a few have attacked me and our organization because of it, but we always put the best interests of the cats first. In cases like that, I can truly not understand how anyone who professes to care about cats could look at our track record and try to cause problems for us. That is something I will never understand, but OPKIT is the most wonderful group of caring, giving and selfless people who ALWAYS put the cats first. I am very proud of our group, it's members, and our accomplishments. As we like to say in OPKIT, rescue on!

Saying OPKIT and its founder is anything BUT above board, completely transparent, and highly ethical is LUDACRIS!!!! This non-profit has saved over 1,500 cats in high-kill shelters across the country over the past two and a half years, and has done so with the highest integrity (and transparency) of any organization I have even been associated with!!! 100 percent of all donations goes to the rescues pulling these animals, and cover medical expenses that would otherwise fall to the rescues to cover. But for the dependability of these funds being transferred to these rescues in a timely manner, these high-risk souls would not have a second chance at happy, healthy lives!!!
I have been a donor and supporter of OPKIT since its inception. I am VERY PARTICULAR when it comes to donating my hard earned money to non-profits. There has NEVER been a question about where funds go. I trust OPKIT and its founder implicitly!!!
If there is ever a negative word spoken about this non-profit, I would INVESTIGATE THAT “SOURCE”!!! You will probably find stink where THEY are concerned, versus with OPKIT.

Opkit has sponsored several cats in our small rural shelter. Those kitties would never have had a chance without that sponsorship to help the rescues that pulled them. The rescues report no issues with collecting the sponsorship money. Highly recommended as an excellent program to donate to
Gina69 has never been a volunteer with OPKIT. She is a disgruntled person who has aligned herself with a group who have tried for years to discredit our organization. OPKIT has helped over 1,400 cats since its inception. The only goal of OPKIT is to help cats. We are a group of people from all over the United States who simply want to help cats. HELP CATS. That is what we do. There is complete transparency within the group and our members know this. We cannot control what this vicious group say or do, but our members and the rescues we help know we are honest and truly love the animals. These people trying to hurt OPKIT are in no way animal lovers, no matter what they say. They are just small, mean-spirited individuals who are not worth our time.

OPKIT Kitty Sponsorship Program is an organization which has helped over 1,400 cats be rescued by their sponsorship. These cats are mostly from high kill shelters all across the US. OPKIT has a sterling reputation, and rescues know money pledged to help these cats will be paid without delay. This very unique organization is the only one of its kind as far as I am aware.
SabrinaEG: Sadly, I have seen several attacks on this PHENOMENAL organization recently. I have been donating to OPKIT for over 2 YEARS, and I have never eve had any kind of issue with its founder or it's members. As a matter of fact, the founder of OPKIT inspired me to go back to school and become an active animal rescue advocate. I have just completed my degree and will be taking my boards to be a registered veterinary technician. I don't understand the claims about no transparency; I have seen multiple records and reports detailing costs, donations, veterinary bills, anything that anyone has a question about is readily provided by the founder and members quite promptly. I believe that these bad reviews and attacks on this group are made out of spite. OPKIT's founder has been nothing but honest, caring, and loving to every animal that she has come into contact with. She exhibits the highest amount of integrity and works tirelessly to save as many cats as she can. Shame on those who would lie and say differently. This group has saved HUNDREDS of cats in its short duration! GO OPKIT!
Gina69: Opkit Kitty Sponsorship and its founder has never been anything but honest, of the highest integrity, and forthright. Sounds like you need to stop spreading falsehoods. I know your backstory- stop being dishonest and spiteful!
I've been donating to OPKIT for about 10 months and love that I can see my "micro-donations," being pooled together with other people's, resulting in saving the most vulnerable cats: those sitting in high kill shelters. Often people who care about animals and want to rescue have time to volunteer, but little resources, or resources but no time or maybe no experience and ultimately feel powerless to help. OPKIT is a community that pools its resources and directs them to where they are needed in order to save lives and give cats who might otherwise be "forgotten," a chance at a loving home and a dignified existence (something we all want). OPKIT's ability to coordinate rescues is amazing and they work tirelessly to save as many lives as possible.
Let's face it, there are a LOT of cats in need all around the country. There are many small, local rescue groups trying to help cats leave government shelters and become adoptable and adopted. And what do these rescues need most? Money! Donations to get the cats their vaccines and spay or neuter. Enter Opkit. This rescue is ingenious; members make pledges for specific cats in a single place, and a single pledge offer is made to be paid to the rescue that pulls that cat from an animal control. Hundreds of cats around the U.S. have been rescued because of Opkit pledges.
Opkit rocks! They save the lives of lots and lots of desperate cats and kittens in kill shelters, across state lines and in their own town.
Opkit is an amazing group of kitty angels!
I donate to OPKIT because it is a wonderful organization dedicated to saving cats lives. Jamie and OPKIT work so hard to save cats that would normally have no chance. When I donate, i know that my money is going to help cats that would have been killed and now that she started a sanctuary so many more lives will be saved. It is amazing the work that is done to help these animals. I hope more people will donate to such a needed cause.
OPKIT has sponsored and help save countless cats from euthanasia in animal controls across the country. I am a networker for several animal controls in rural Missouri, and I have lost count of the number of cats that OPKIT has helped save. I am grateful for the help that OPKIT has provided to so many deserving and needy cats. Their sponsorship is paid very quickly, which is a blessing for the rescues taking the cats in. Often they need to get the cats veterinary attention right away and having the money come in quickly allows them to do so.
I am proud to be a member of this great organization, which has helped save the lives of countless cats in shelters all over the country. I also volunteer with a shelter and a rescue group and have heard that cats sponsored by OPKIT have a better chance of being rescued because of OPKIT's excellent reputation. They can be relied upon to follow through quickly with paying their pledges to rescue groups on sponsored cats which is so helpful because these cats invariably have medical needs and other costs. Just a top notch organization.
Jamie and OPKIT have helped to save so many cats from shelters and unwanted situations. It is one if the few organizations that I truly trust to donate money. Her new sanctuary will hopefully help to make an even bigger impact in animals lives and reach out to those in need.
OPKIT is the only animal rescue organization I regularly donate to, and I get to see my money help save lives. They are tireless in their pursuit of helping cats.
This organization is so very helpful. Rescue is a big world but they connected the saving of an amazing cat multi state with me. Im so very thankful.
OPKIT is an awesome organozation. Their sponsorship of countless cats on death row in the broken shelter system have helped many other rescues and private parties to rescue these kitties from being killed! The work they do is amazing beyond words!!
Opkit Is a phenomenal organization.
Not only do I donate to their cats. But I am also a rescue that has benefited from their program.
Rescue is so important these days, but expensive. Even doing the "basics" can tax us. I urge anyone who can. To donate to this wonderful cause.
This non-profit, OPKIT Kitty Sponsorship Program, has saved countless kittens and cats from kill shelters all over the country since its inception. I am happy to be a member of a group that is able to give happy alternatives to animals with little hope. The group is very cooperative and absolutely dedicated to saving as many animals as we can with our combined donations. Jamie Lee Robinson has started this group and her leadership has definitely led to the group's success. She has also set up a cat sanctuary in northern Florida, Tails Up Happy Cat Sanctuary http://www.opkit-tailsup.org/index.html in Chiefland,Florida.
I joined OPKIT in the early days by happy coincidence on Facebook. I have a number of my own kitties, so I can't foster, but I've contributed to saving MANY lives across the country. I've been involved with other rescues in the past, and there is NO squabbling or vying for personal recognition here. We all do what we can, whether it's pledge $2 or $20, or just share the photo of a kitty in need. Everything goes towards saving these babies who are at low profile/high kill shelters. With the advent of the new sanctuary, I know more will be saved and given a chance at a forever home....if that home never comes, then they will be safe at the sanctuary. This organization is honest and transparent, unique qualities these days.
Opkit helps save cats from kill shelters. Opkit sponsorship's help make it possible for rescue groups to pull cats that otherwise would be put to sleep. Rescue groups use the funds for medical costs, food and litter. Thank you Opkit for all you do!!
This is such a great rescue group. These people are helping to save cats & kitties around the country. It's the one of the few rescues I help. They are always working on finding lives to save. I'm proud to be involved with them. Good work everyone!

I am so honored to work with such an outstanding organization. I love being a part of saving so many kitty lives with such dedicated people. Long live OPKIT!
I would like to thank OPKIT for always coming through when we have asked for help with the cats and kittens on the euthanasia list. I know that when they say they will guarantee sponsorship of a cat I never have to follow up again which is so important in rescue. We have so little time to raise the funds needed and to have to continue to follow up when you are trying to save lives and find fosters is always been a problem. I can never thank OPKIT enough for their help.

Jamie Robinson, founder of OPKIT, has saved more lives through her sponsorship program than can be counted! OPKIT truly defines everyone working together towards a common goal...saving shelter kitties one life at a time. I'm proud to be a member of this heartfelt group.
I have fostered a cat that OPKIT sponsored (foster failure, she is still living with me and there she will stay) and I have made many donations to the organization. I know that they are very trustworthy and have helped many cats. I am proud to say that I helped with my donations with such a caring and wonderful rescue. They do an awesome job.
I have personally fostered many kitties that OPKIT sponsored for the rescue I foster for. Without their sponsorship the kitties would have had less chance of making it out of the shelters. Thanks to the members many kitties are now healthy, happy, fully vetted, and living in wonderful homes. Thank you OPKIT!
I joined OPKIT when it first started because it is a caring and honest rescue that helps cats all over the country. It was founded by Jamie Lee Robinson who has since expanded into a sanctuary, and she and her volunteers are able to help many kitties that would have been killed in our country's shelters. It is truly a sad commentary on our country that so many animals are abandoned and treated with such irresponsibility, but a charity like OPKIT raises money and actively helps the sick, forgotten, abandoned, betrayed kitties of our country. There is so little help for them and I cannot praise this group's efforts enough.
OPKIT has helped rescues in Southern California at the highest kill shelters. I have networked many cats on Medical alert. They are very sick and injured, OPKIT has stepped right up to help the cat in need find a rescue and assist in medical care. They are so kind and step up to the rescue clear across the country.
