Operation Phantom Support is a truly amazing organization run by the most caring individuals my family and I have ever met. My husband, a retired Veteran of 20+yrs & I have had the good fortune of being able to be apart of OPS, as a Patron and as a Volunteer. They have helped our family in so many ways there is absolutely no way we can ever repay the kindness, support and love shown except to give back and be thankful for all this organization represents. Being a Volunteer along side the OPS family has been an honor for me. I enjoy and absolutely love everyone I work along side with and the Patrons/Veterans I have met along the way in doing so are wonderful! Blessed to be apart of the OPS Family. Thank you for all you do to support Veterans and their families, like my own and so many others. God bless you and yours.
With hundreds of thousands of non-profits out there and over 50.000 veteran non-profits to choose from I am very weary because most of the issues being tackled are not improving.
I met Nick the founder, spoke with him at length and watched him and his team in action.
It is without hesitation that I highly reconsider supporting Operation Phantom Support because the impact is immediate and not separated by layers of administration, PR, marketing and promo.
Nick and his team are on the front lines every week, really something to see!
No nonsense leadership equates to smooth operations and high standards, cannot say enough about the team, absolutely top notch.
This non-profit provided a birthday cake for my 9 year old son when he was 2 and things were tight. From there they offered me a volunteer position during the time my children were in school. This gave me a great sense of purpose. We also learned about the food pantry for military families. We soon became a donating member because of all the good we saw of OPS contributing to serve the military community. To this day we still donate and benefit from this amazing nonprofit and share the benefits and services to all we meet.
Unbelievably powerful podcast with a message of hope that can help our vets. TONS of great knowledge and community outreach. Keep up the great work!!
Amazing group of people making such a big impact on so many veterans and active duty in our community, awestruck!
I have been in the local Killeen TX area for four years now and over 20 years in the Army. I have never seen an organization that does more to help active duty Soldiers, Veterans, and their families intern helping the over all community between: Operation Monkey Wrench, The food pantry, Operation Phantom cakes, the Soldiers locker heck so much more that John Valentine and his family, friends, and all the volunteers continue to do and find new ways to continue to help the community... Great Job, Well Done..
Operation Phantom Support is an amazing organization that does so much for Veterans, soldiers and their families. Central TX and Fort Hood is extremely lucky to have OPS. Id give 10 stars if i could.
Operation phantom support works tirelessly to provide support to the community - they sponsor school supply drives, holiday meals and support a food bank at their facility. Our community is a far better place with them in it.
Absolutely AMAZING!!! They have been such a life saver for my family. Also, they are the nicest people you will ever meet.
Operation Phantom Support has been one of a very few organizations that we have been able to depend upon to consistently help veterans. They are always there, without judgement, with arms wide open, giving just as much as they can!
Operation phantom is a very friendly giving place. I use there pantry weekly and have used some of the other services during the year. The volunteers are always so friendly and great with my boys. I love supporting there cause by donating when I can ❤️.
Always there to help Active duty, Retired, and Veterans alike. With honor and respect. We get treated like family.
I have never felt so cared for. From weekly food, to local support and even holidays and back to school. The love they share to every person that walks through their doors and even the surrounding community is contagious.
They’ve helped us more than anyone could, the people are super friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond!
This is an amazing nonprofit that supports the military and first responders. They have so many programs from the food bank, school supplies, and Christmas toy drive. We go to the pantry every week. It helps us stay with in budget and out of debt.
Operation Phantom Support is a fantastic nonprofit that does such much for the community. Operation Phantom Support welcomes military, first responders, and their families with open arms. I have seen first hand the impact Operation Phantom Support has had on the families during my time volunteering. The most used service is the Nancy Miller Food Pantry, which is the best food pantry I have ever seen. Families can get fruits, vegetables, meat, and more twice a week. They have a birthday cake program and a program for special needs young adults. Overall, it has been a rewarding experience volunteering at Operation Phantom Support and a pleasure to volunteer with people who care about helping others.
We are always greatful for another nonprofit that bands together for support. In our community, we have many active duty, retired and spouses that get diagnosed with cancer. Working as a team makes a greater impact.
They have helped my family so much, they are amazing and always do there best to help. Can't wait to see what they do next for our community!
They have helped put food on our table, clothes on our backs, & a bed for our daughters. We greatly appreciate their support for military families!
Always reaching out the community. Quality control on the food items they donate in their food pantry.
Amazing non profit that help's my Family on a regular basis and Military Families in need every week with their food pantry. I love this organization. I lost my Father unexpectedly and they funded a rental car for 2 weeks while I was in England making funeral arrangements. Without there help I don't know what I would have done.
We are a Military Family far from home In the UK. This nonprofit helped my Family during a veryrk period of our lives. My Father passed away unexpected and suddenly. I had to fly home to England at a moment's notice. I needed a rental car to get around England to arrange the funeral for my Father. They funded my rental car for 2wks. They area just amazing! John, Linda and Taylor and all whom volunteer there time and efforts in servicing the Military community and Families, Fort Hood, Copperas Cove ansd Harker Heights areas. I will always be greatful...
This organization is amazing! It helps us greatly with our grocery bill! Two things they could do differently is check their food better and a few of their volunteers need to be a little nicer.
Best military nonprofit in Texas. Fort hood loves you all at OPS
Operation Phantom Support has helped our family keep our heads above water consistently while we have been at FT Hood. The heart they have to support and honor military an veteran families is unparalleled. From the food pantry assistance to the thrift shop, they have become a much needed lifeline for us. The service they provide is so important that we continue to donate to them even when we do not need their assistance. We love the Valentine family and all they do to make Killeen a better community for our military families.
I'm going to Operation Phantoms Support now near 3 years and i have to say, the whole OPS Family (includes the volunteers) are a blessing, the whole organisation is a blessing to our Family. We would have a rough start being civilians after being in the Army for so long (my Husband finished his years in the National Guard now) and He finally is now full retired. Thank you OPS for all what you do and have done, we wish you the best for the future.
It is amazing to see all the good this charity does for military folks past and present. There is the 8 x a month food pantry for members, Christmas toy giveaway, and thrift store among other programs they have. We are members because of my husband's retired military status and volunteers because helping OPS helps us give back to our military community. I truly feel that the people in this organization care about people, care about us, and that's what it's all about.
I'm a volunteer at OPS ( for over 2 years now) and I really love working at the pantry. Our patrons are like family , you see the same faces twice a week and you really get to know people . You get a chance to make their children smile with a little treat and help out with all kinds of groceries to ease the weekly bills a little. The Valentine's are awesome and help whoever needs help no questions asked. Nobody needs to be shy or feel weird coming to our pantry we love to have you and we try our best to help you.
This program has helped my husband and I so much since I moved down here a month ago. Between me getting out of the Army, us moving into a house and a month left until we have our first child, money has been tight going from two paychecks down to just one paycheck. Operation Phantom Support has helped us get food, clothes and etc to help us get back on our feet with a new house and baby on the way! Thank you to everyone there who has helped us!
The first time we got help was when my husband got medical retired and we needed to move off base, we got help with the move and also with food.
It helped us to get back on our feet. This was a few years back.
Now we facing abother bad time due to my husbands injury and after contacting them we got told to come in to the store and pick up a food basket for us.
This organization makes you feel like family they understand that life can be rough.
We don't know what we would do with out them. Knowing we get help is a big release.
I want to thank everybody who is involved. God Bless y'all.
I was active duty military when I first used Operation Phantom Support and I was under the impression that their mission was to serve the servicemember and their family. After a year my opinion of the organization soured for a variety of reasons.
1.) For a non-profit whose sole purpose is to support military and veterans, their behavior does not correspond accordingly. They cut hours of availability for soldiers to pick-up food from the pantry and did not allow family members or other family to pick-up food in lieu of the soldier being there. How can an organization claim to support servicemembers when they enact restrictions such as these?
2.) In addition to the hours of operation being cut down, Operation Phantom Support shuts down for weeks at a time without explanation given, which hurts the very clientele they are supposedly serving. Many times, soldiers and family have driven to their downtown location only see the "closed" sign up without explanation. I have seen this many, many times in the year that I was a contributor to their organization.
3.) They sign people up and require a monthly recurring charge to a credit/debit card. This fee accrues regardless of whether the actual pantry is open or not, which means they are taking service-members money regardless of whether they are actually providing a service that week or not. If an organization is truly supporting service-members, why would they do that?
When I broached some of these issues with the staff, I was given a "take it or leave it" response, to which I promptly cancelled my arrangement with them.
Fortunately for me, I don't necessarily need the pantry to survive, but I know there are many active duty families who do and it is a shame that this organization is taking advantage of the situation.
Operation Phantom Support seems more like a money-making venture than a true non-profit.
Operation Phantom Support 08/04/2016
Mark was a constant complainer (entitlement will do that to you), and never completely understood the operation, the monthly donation are used are to provide all active and Veterans our services, we serve over 1,000 Soldier and Veterans a week at our pantry, so they donate to become a direct part of the help to themselves and all other Soldiers and Veterans, they are part of the end results, we have hundreds of Soldiers and Veterans who received assistance but can't afford the $10 donation. As far as closing we only close during seasonal breaks We have a staff of 6 People and a volunteer staff of over 100, we all need time to re-charge. If anyone ever has an issue the can come directly to our CEO John Valentine, and voice there concerns he will ensure they are addressed, he talked with Mark numerous times.
Thank You for helping our military families :) We are so great full for all you guys do at the pantry !!!
My family loves this organization! The volunteers are super helpful and friendly. They make my kids smile every time we visit. Between the food pantry and resale store, we know we are going to find great deals. The fish tanks are a plus for antsy kids. Thank you for all that you do for the military community OPS!
The staff are helpful and friendly. Truely vets helping vets
Always there for those in need.....keep up the great work!!!!
A great LOCAL charity that helps soldiers and vets. The $ actually goes where it's needed. Glad Primerica has teamed up to help support them and make a difference.
Operation Phantom Support has helped lightened the financial load for several Soldiers in my unit. It's a great organization with great staff and volunterts.
nice to have a place to help with the in between checks
An Awesome organization that serves those that serve us! I Gladly give for this organization!
Absolutely amazing charity! This has come in handy for our family and thousands of others in the local military community. The volunteers are all caring and wonderful people. I donate to this group every chance I get. Keep up the amazing work and kindness
I don't think I have volunteered at a better organization! The staff/volunteers are wonderful and so dedicated to the organization and the community that they work long extended hours to make sure active military, veterans, and their families can have what they need. The progress Operation Phantom Support has made over the course of a year is tremendous and will only continue to grow. This organization is a family; patrons and staff know each other and not just on a first name basis. The staff aims to really know those they serve and that is just further proof that this organization is doing something really good for the community. The selflessness of those who work and volunteer at the organization in itself is heartwarming. I look forward to continuing my volunteer experience with Operation Phantom Support.
Best organization that help active and retired military families. Just a great group.
This organization helped my family when we had no money and need food to feed our children
I absolutely love this organization. They, to me, are not just a charity, they are family. There was a point in our lives where we felt defeated and didn't know what to do. We met up with John and the rest is history. Not only was he able to help us in the areas where we needed but also gave us purpose as we began to volunteer. Those were some of the most amazing months of my life. I loved what we did and the people we helped. So we not only got help but we were also able to give back and help others. I highly recommend anyone to go and meet the amazing people at Operation Phantom Support! They will become part of your family as well!
Side note, we were a client served, then volunteers and now former staff.
The volunteers and staff are wonderful. They are well trained and always very pleasant. I love coming in just to see them. If OPS cannot help, they direct me where to get the help my Soldiers and their families need.
They're awesome! Love this nonprofit! Always helping the community.
Always comes thru when you need it. True Charity not like some other VET Charities.
Great support for my family and myself, great for military and veterans.
They are a great program! They have helped many people I know and myself.
Great place with great people. We need more people and places like this one .
Great staff great organization helps a lot of people wonderful service for the vets and current military
Operation phantom support has been an extremely positive experience for myself and my family. Not only does their food pantry provide great assistance but the staff and volunteers are always super friendly and respectful. Their thrift store has been a great help in keeping my 3 children in clothes that fit and myself.
Wonderful organization, very dedicated to supporting Soldiers and their families. I have known a few folks who have used their food pantry and they speak very highly of this charity and the way they were treated while using services. Thank you Operation Phantom Support for respecting our Service Members; especially while experiencing financial hardship.
This place is awesome. Helps Veterans and charges them nothing. One of the few organizations that truely gives back to the veterans.
This organization has help me and my family in more ways than I could ever express. Their outgoing and friendly staff has become family to us and are so great in all they do for others. The Food Pantry is always stocked with delicious and plentiful food, the second hand store is clean and organized well, I can only see major growth coming to this organization because of all they do and continue to do for Vets and Military and their families. They have become a permanent fixture in our lives.
This place is AMAZING! I'm in disbelief every time I go in there. From the food to the clothing to the uniforms to the thrift store to free birthday cakes. Vets helping vets. God bless you!!
With today's economy and budget cuts especially to us military families, this program has helped us out tremendously. Every time I go I am personally greeted by the wonderful volunteers and they don't make me feel lesser a person on using their services. I am very prideful and it hurts me that sometimes I can't provide enough for my family, but with this program we are do good. Big Thank you Operation Phantom Support
Wonderful organization that helps many soldiers and their families.
Operation Phantom Support is an amazing nonprofit organization. As a homeless combat veteran and single father of two young boys, I had no where to turn at times struggling with waiting for the VA to assist me. They helped me with some motel room fare and kept us off the streets of Killeen. I really appreciate all that they do for the community of active duty military, their families and veterans. I was able to volunteer once and I wish that I had been able to volunteer a lot more. Thank you to all of the amazing staff of Operation Phantom Support for what they do! Mrs Graff rules by the way! ;)
I have been a part of this organization from it's inception the store in which OPS works out of is in honor of my son. I am so proud to be part of a group of people that genuinely care about others. Their main goal is to help military families in a time of need. The money a soldier or a veteran receives is limited and sometimes needs help stretching the funds. Being able to go to the food pantry or to the store to help their money make it all the way to the end of the month is awesome. It seems every time i am able to make it down to TX to see how things are going i find a new way they are including the community in their assistance programs. No one is sitting on their butts waiting for people to help them they are working in the community not only to get the word out but to tell others about their mission.
This organization is so close to my heart in so many ways. I have watched as a family comes into the store in Killeen with small children and are able to get a bike helmet for their son for free he was the happiest young man I think I have ever seen. Seeing a family come in and leave with food to eat for a week at no cost is an incredible thing to be a part of. As an aid brigade member I absolutely know where my money is going. With so many other organizations you may not see what they do with this one they are right out there on the front lines of assisting whenever they can. When the store first opened I watched John Valentine reach into his own pocket to give a mom 20.00 to buy a Christmas tree for her family because they didn't have one. He told her no child should go without a Christmas tree. I am so proud to be part of this amazing organization and believe my 10,00 is part of a change of times for the young men and women that pass through Ft. Hood.
Wonderful Wonderful people i do not know how i would get thru with out there help.Linda Valentine is one of the most kind ,caring people that i have ever met.All the people there are so nice they treat you like family and are truly involved with the community.i vote Operation Phantom Support as the number 1 non profit in central Texas!!! thank you Deborah Vazquez
This is the most caring and kind, people I have ever met I am so blessed to have them in my life.I am very ill,and when I can not get there they will bring me food, always ask how i am.Before I was ill I worked in non profit. You could not donate or give your time to a better organization.5 star all the way!!!!
