Operation Phantom Support is a truly amazing organization run by the most caring individuals my family and I have ever met. My husband, a retired Veteran of 20+yrs & I have had the good fortune of being able to be apart of OPS, as a Patron and as a Volunteer. They have helped our family in so many ways there is absolutely no way we can ever repay the kindness, support and love shown except to give back and be thankful for all this organization represents. Being a Volunteer along side the OPS family has been an honor for me. I enjoy and absolutely love everyone I work along side with and the Patrons/Veterans I have met along the way in doing so are wonderful! Blessed to be apart of the OPS Family. Thank you for all you do to support Veterans and their families, like my own and so many others. God bless you and yours.

With hundreds of thousands of non-profits out there and over 50.000 veteran non-profits to choose from I am very weary because most of the issues being tackled are not improving.
I met Nick the founder, spoke with him at length and watched him and his team in action.
It is without hesitation that I highly reconsider supporting Operation Phantom Support because the impact is immediate and not separated by layers of administration, PR, marketing and promo.
Nick and his team are on the front lines every week, really something to see!
Support them!

This non-profit provided a birthday cake for my 9 year old son when he was 2 and things were tight. From there they offered me a volunteer position during the time my children were in school. This gave me a great sense of purpose. We also learned about the food pantry for military families. We soon became a donating member because of all the good we saw of OPS contributing to serve the military community. To this day we still donate and benefit from this amazing nonprofit and share the benefits and services to all we meet.

I have been in the local Killeen TX area for four years now and over 20 years in the Army. I have never seen an organization that does more to help active duty Soldiers, Veterans, and their families intern helping the over all community between: Operation Monkey Wrench, The food pantry, Operation Phantom cakes, the Soldiers locker heck so much more that John Valentine and his family, friends, and all the volunteers continue to do and find new ways to continue to help the community... Great Job, Well Done..

Operation Phantom Support is a fantastic nonprofit that does such much for the community. Operation Phantom Support welcomes military, first responders, and their families with open arms. I have seen first hand the impact Operation Phantom Support has had on the families during my time volunteering. The most used service is the Nancy Miller Food Pantry, which is the best food pantry I have ever seen. Families can get fruits, vegetables, meat, and more twice a week. They have a birthday cake program and a program for special needs young adults. Overall, it has been a rewarding experience volunteering at Operation Phantom Support and a pleasure to volunteer with people who care about helping others.

Operation Phantom Support has helped our family keep our heads above water consistently while we have been at FT Hood. The heart they have to support and honor military an veteran families is unparalleled. From the food pantry assistance to the thrift shop, they have become a much needed lifeline for us. The service they provide is so important that we continue to donate to them even when we do not need their assistance. We love the Valentine family and all they do to make Killeen a better community for our military families.

It is amazing to see all the good this charity does for military folks past and present. There is the 8 x a month food pantry for members, Christmas toy giveaway, and thrift store among other programs they have. We are members because of my husband's retired military status and volunteers because helping OPS helps us give back to our military community. I truly feel that the people in this organization care about people, care about us, and that's what it's all about.

You get a chance to make their children smile with a little treat and help out with all kinds of groceries to ease the weekly bills a little. The Valentine's are awesome and help whoever needs help no questions asked. Nobody needs to be shy or feel weird coming to our pantry we love to have you and we try our best to help you.

Between me getting out of the Army, us moving into a house and a month left until we have our first child, money has been tight going from two paychecks down to just one paycheck. The first time we got help was when my husband got medical retired and we needed to move off base, we got help with the move and also with food.
It helped us to get back on our feet. This was a few years back.
Now we facing abother bad time due to my husbands injury and after contacting them we got told to come in to the store and pick up a food basket for us.
This organization makes you feel like family they understand that life can be rough.
We don't know what we would do with out them. Knowing we get help is a big release.
I want to thank everybody who is involved. God Bless y'all.

I was active duty military when I first used Operation Phantom Support and I was under the impression that their mission was to serve the servicemember and their family. After a year my opinion of the organization soured for a variety of reasons.

1.) For a non-profit whose sole purpose is to support military and veterans, their behavior does not correspond accordingly. They cut hours of availability for soldiers to pick-up food from the pantry and did not allow family members or other family to pick-up food in lieu of the soldier being there. How can an organization claim to support servicemembers when they enact restrictions such as these?

2.) In addition to the hours of operation being cut down, Operation Phantom Support shuts down for weeks at a time without explanation given, which hurts the very clientele they are supposedly serving. Many times, soldiers and family have driven to their downtown location only see the "closed" sign up without explanation. I have seen this many, many times in the year that I was a contributor to their organization.

3.) They sign people up and require a monthly recurring charge to a credit/debit card. This fee accrues regardless of whether the actual pantry is open or not, which means they are taking service-members money regardless of whether they are actually providing a service that week or not. If an organization is truly supporting service-members, why would they do that?

When I broached some of these issues with the staff, I was given a "take it or leave it" response, to which I promptly cancelled my arrangement with them.

Fortunately for me, I don't necessarily need the pantry to survive, but I know there are many active duty families who do and it is a shame that this organization is taking advantage of the situation.

Operation Phantom Support seems more like a money-making venture than a true non-profit.

Mark was a constant complainer (entitlement will do that to you), and never completely understood the operation, the monthly donation are used are to provide all active and Veterans our services, we serve over 1,000 Soldier and Veterans a week at our pantry, so they donate to become a direct part of the help to themselves and all other Soldiers and Veterans, they are part of the end results, we have hundreds of Soldiers and Veterans who received assistance but can't afford the $10 donation. As far as closing we only close during seasonal breaks We have a staff of 6 People and a volunteer staff of over 100, we all need time to re-charge. If anyone ever has an issue the can come directly to our CEO John Valentine, and voice there concerns he will ensure they are addressed, he talked with Mark numerous times.

I don't think I have volunteered at a better organization! The staff/volunteers are wonderful and so dedicated to the organization and the community that they work long extended hours to make sure active military, veterans, and their families can have what they need. The progress Operation Phantom Support has made over the course of a year is tremendous and will only continue to grow. This organization is a family; patrons and staff know each other and not just on a first name basis. The staff aims to really know those they serve and that is just further proof that this organization is doing something really good for the community. The selflessness of those who work and volunteer at the organization in itself is heartwarming. I look forward to continuing my volunteer experience with Operation Phantom Support.

We met up with John and the rest is history. Not only was he able to help us in the areas where we needed but also gave us purpose as we began to volunteer. Those were some of the most amazing months of my life. I loved what we did and the people we helped. So we not only got help but we were also able to give back and help others. I highly recommend anyone to go and meet the amazing people at Operation Phantom Support! They will become part of your family as well!

I have been a part of this organization from it's inception the store in which OPS works out of is in honor of my son. I am so proud to be part of a group of people that genuinely care about others. Their main goal is to help military families in a time of need. The money a soldier or a veteran receives is limited and sometimes needs help stretching the funds. Being able to go to the food pantry or to the store to help their money make it all the way to the end of the month is awesome. It seems every time i am able to make it down to TX to see how things are going i find a new way they are including the community in their assistance programs. No one is sitting on their butts waiting for people to help them they are working in the community not only to get the word out but to tell others about their mission.

This organization is so close to my heart in so many ways. I have watched as a family comes into the store in Killeen with small children and are able to get a bike helmet for their son for free he was the happiest young man I think I have ever seen. Seeing a family come in and leave with food to eat for a week at no cost is an incredible thing to be a part of. As an aid brigade member I absolutely know where my money is going. With so many other organizations you may not see what they do with this one they are right out there on the front lines of assisting whenever they can. When the store first opened I watched John Valentine reach into his own pocket to give a mom 20.00 to buy a Christmas tree for her family because they didn't have one. He told her no child should go without a Christmas tree. I am so proud to be part of this amazing organization and believe my 10,00 is part of a change of times for the young men and women that pass through Ft. Hood.

I have been coming to this pantry for about 2 months now. It's very helpful to me because I'm on limited income and usually don't have much left over after bills.

The volunteers and staff are always very friendly and helpful. The greatest part is that they also recognize veterans as most organizations only recognize active duty as military. As the spouse of a veteran I really appreciate all that has been done for my family by operation phantom support

I benefit thru this GREAT organization twice a week, by going to the food pantry. I was assisted with Christmas for my grandson thru them also. I do not get any assistance from the State nor the parents in raising my precious grandson.

This is the SECOND time I have been excited to come to this store because it is a wonderful place and it lets me down. The hours are from 1000 to 1700 and it is barely about to be 1600 and this store is closed. It is very very frustrating considering I do not live in Killeen that the store shuts down early. Because of what? What! I am pleased with the service of the workers and the items sold however I am very displeased with how they decide to close. STAY OPEN FOR YOUR HOURS. STOP CLOSING EARLY. I cannot stress this enough. I am angry with you.

I have been Volunteering at OPS for quite some time. I can't describe the feeling it gives me to be able to help our Military members & their families. We offer assistance with clothing, household items and we run an amazing food pantry, that stocks & operates twice a week. To be able to give back to those serving our country, & know that we help make a difference in their lives is just incredible. They know we're here for them & will try to do what we can to help.
I think what makes us stand out is that we help all Military, not just active duty. Our only condition is that you served honorably. We welcome Vets, retirees & those currently still serving. We also help any/all branches. I truly believe in the mission of this charity & feel very blessed to see the looks of appreciation on our members faces when they come in. We have an awesome crew of volunteers, who work for nothing more then a Thank You & feeling of pride knowing we are doing all we can to make this growing Charity a success.

I am always raving and telling fellow military, retired etc. about this AMAZING organization! We are new to the area and I am so thankful and gracious to not only Operation Phantom but the fellow spouse who told me about them! I would have never known they were here.
Our family had been very blessed in the past as far as having everything we needed and the money to do so without assistance, but the move here had a very lengthy and very unexpected wait for housing which drained what little savings we and money we had. For 2 months I cried because ...all the sudden clothes for my kids and FOOD for my family was worry some. I was scared and embarresed to go into the store to ask for help, but once I walked in the door and was greated with a smile and welcomed so kindly I felt a. Little better, I asked in a quiet voice if the food pantry was still open and they said yes ma'am handed me several bags of food with a smile too! They then explained the donor program and I immediately said sign me up! I was so HAPPY to not only help my family but give to an organization that was here to help Military ( current and past). I get so much more for my small monthly donation, but it feels good to know I am supporting in some way help for other service families. I gladly pay it forward and also donate back items and clothing my family no longer uses so that Operation Phantom can continue the wonderful things they do!
Without them, my kids would not have some of the clothes they now have( all in amazing used if not new condition)...most importantly my family may have not had food.
I thank them for being so kind, friendly and welcoming to my scared to ask for help self. They were all there because of a love for helping service families and all understood how I felt as well! I love you all and will continue to share, pass along, praise and rave about this organization and will forever be passionate about making sure people know about their services as well as how needed their organization is for this area.
Thank you from a client served, a doner and future volunteer

I have been volunteering at Operation Phantom Support for nearly a year now. When I moved to the Fort Hood area I began looking for a place to volunteer, I checked into many places, and after spending a little time at Operation Phantom Support I decided this is where I wanted to help. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to work at a charity and actually be 'hands on' so to speak. It is great to see the appreciation on peoples face when you help them, even if it is just lending ear for them to have someone to talk to or by helping them through the food pantry. I am very thankful to Operation Phantom Support for such a great opportunity and for all the wonderful things they do for not only the military but the community as well.
Working with the staff and all the other volunteers has been a complete joy!! This charity is by far, in my opinion, one of THE BEST!!! The mission of this charity is an outstanding one. Not a lot of charities are willing to do the things they do unless you are totally flat out with no other options, but not here. Here they help you out in every way possible to keep you from reaching rock bottom if they can. And that is what separates them from the rest and makes them THE BEST!!!

I am very proud to be a part of this growing charity as a volunteer and a member. And even when it comes time for me to move on I will continue to support this charity and stay a member, and a very proud one at that !
Thank you for all you do!!! Keep up the mission, even when you think you can't, and remember, we, the members, are beside you all the way!

Before my husband got stationed at Fort Hood, I was employed full-time and able to contribute financially to our necessities. When we came here, obviously, I had to leave my job behind. Within the first year of arriving here, I found out I was pregnant, and my husband and I determined the financial costs of daycare, commute, and vehicle maintenance would pretty much negate any income I might secure. But with the addition of a growing little guy to our household, the costs also increased, and it became hard to choose what to do without and what we would have to find money for, because we were having to choose between food or diapers, wipes or shampoo.

Someone told me about Sgt Leevon Ritter Operation Phantom Support and their food pantry. I had to swallow some pride, but we went up there and signed up to be members of the Aid Brigade. We contribute monthly and are able to make use of the food pantry twice weekly. They don't turn folks away. People who aren't \Aid Brigade members can still go to the pantry or request help from the charity. I like being able to be a member of the Aid Brigade, though, because it makes me feel like I am offsetting some of what I have received and maybe making it possible for people who can't become members to get help, too.

As our little guy grows, we make use of the fill-a-bag sales they have twice weekly to be able to keep him in seasonal appropriate clothing. As he outgrows things, and if they're still in good condition, we take them back so someone else can benefit.

It's helped us so much.

Everytime I go in there everyone is happy to be there and help with whatever they possibly can. Luckily I have only had to use to food pantry to help out on tight pay checks. However, I have heard they help with everything that they can and show guidance where they can. I applaud everyone there for the work and dedication that they have for helping others.

They helped us when we were in need in November and no one else would help! I have told many people about them and recommend they go there if they are in need of help or can help them in any way. They also have a great thrift store there where I go when in need of something or have items to donate. I will continue to support them.
