Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services, Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: One Heart exists to meet the real needs of kids living in some of the poorest zip codes in Washington State. Many of our kids and their families didn’t ask to live in the situations and seasons of life they are in; however, this is their reality. As opposed to simply allowing problems to persist we believe we can help be part of an answer that would meet their needs today while investing in their futures.
Target demographics: We want to impact the lives of 100,000 kids (K-8th grade) in the next four years.
Geographic areas served: In Spokane, Washington, we are pouring into our East Central neighborhood through the use of our One Heart Center and throughout the year through our city-wide events in Spokane and Cheney.
Programs: Our center serves kids who may not get the things we believe should be part of a child’s life: a safe place to hang out, people who can instill confidence in them, home cooked meals, fun and games, and sharing hope for a bright future. We know we can make a difference in the futures of kids by investing in their lives today. Additionally, we throw several events a year as ways to love and serve our city by meeting practical needs, such as our Back to School Event. We also love to host events where families can make wonderful memories like our city-wide Egg Hunt. These events are meant to be a blessing to our city with no strings attached.
