My family and I lost a great deal in the historic flooding of Baton Rouge , Louisiana. As a veteran of three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I contacted on behalf.org for help with disaster assistance. On behalf contacted me and walked through the process to get assistance. Everything worked out and assistance was given. To me on behalf is a great organization for veterans and their families. Thank you guys for everything you do.

Vets need all the support they can get, but more often than not, they don't get it! OnBehalf fills in the gaps whenever called on to do what they can to help their fellow brothers and sisters. I continue to support and donate to this tremendous organization...please consider doing the same.

It's nice to know that over 90% of any donations are actually used to meet the needs of Iraq War veterans. Mike donates his own time to make that happen. Larger charities usually have huge expenses so supporting smaller non-profits can make donations go further. Thanks, Mike Gifford.

Why should I give you a rating. I am a disabled veteran who came to you for help and you sent me to other organization who wouldn't help either. I love the term hold your hand out and others will help....NOT. It's more like I get mine bite off. So I am done asking and will continue trying to do this on my own like I have.

This organization was unlike any other I’ve experienced. As a combat veteran I have a hard time asking for help, but onbehalf made it feel like a hand up rather than a handout. I had an unfortunate situation with the VA and didn't receive my benefits. On behalf was able to provide assistance within 48 hours which took a load off of me.

I was honestly at the end of my rope, I got out of the military, had a terrible divorce, couldn't hold a job down, and honestly was looking down the barrel of the gun, OnBehalf got me in contact with the VA to help my suicidal depression stemming from when I was injured in Afghanistan, they even helped me so I would have a place to live so I wouldn't be homeless, this is an amazing foundation doing amazing work for veterans.

My husband is a disabled vet whom lost his left leg and suffered multiple other injuries. We recently ran into a few set backs in life that left us worried. I nominated my husband to get help from onbehalf.org. I got a reponse right away. They are very kind... I got the feeling that they truly care about the soldiers and not just doing it for publicity. After speaking with them they did not have me jump through hoops and very fast they had a payment to go towards our mortgage and I am truly grateful for that. Unfortunately Veterans sometimes do not get the care that they are entitled to and deserve. OnBehalf.org was created to fill those gaps, and to assist those in need when other programs fall short. It is an excellent resource for Veterans to obtain assistance, a place where volunteers can liaison and come together to fulfill a common goal, and where financial donors can be confident that their contributions are actually reaching the Veteran.

My family and I got behind on Utilities because of the slowness of the VA processing my claim. OnBehalf stepped up and quickly paid our whole electric bill before it was shut off. Thank You to OnBehalf for helping us in our time of need.

I started volunteering with OnBehalf about 2 years ago. Besides the fact that it is such a great organization with a mission to help ease the lives of veterans, they possess a very dedicated staff force. Mike Gifford is constantly coming up with new ways to fundraise for this non-profit and as has been extremely successful thus far. I know single-handedly, I was able to help numerous veterans, whether it was cheaper dental bills, or just a round of golf to try and alleviate the stress, who were extremely thankful. OnBehalf is a great organization that helps give back to those who risk their lives for our freedom.

Working to connect veterans to local clinics that provide safe, free or low cost acupuncture ( veteransproject.net) that helps with PTSD, addiction, depression, pain, I have found OnBehalf.org to be involved, upstanding, understanding and available to all who approach them. This organization is founded by those they serve! They have boots on the ground in the real world of returning home.

As a social worker with the VA, we get many requests and the need to support our OEF/OIF Veteran's and families are great. OnBehalf.org has been generous and the assistance allows Veterans to be able to focus on "getting better" without the stress of financial obligations effecting their abilities to truly concentrate on themselves. Our Veteran's truly appreciate the help from OnBehalf.org and express how they want to give back once they are able to move forward. I left my job for medical reasons to receive treatment for ptsd and tbi which led to severe financial difficulties. OnBehalf's organization responded promptly to my request and in no time I was given a grant which helped me tremendously.

We were going through a really rough patch.Almost homeless.Our only vehicle broke down,my veterancouldnt get to work and he tried getting his benefits with out much luck because our VA was so backlogged they are still working on old cases first.He even called to find out out what to do if we wound up homeless.I heard about a few sights and called around in desperation knowing our 5 year old had to be somewhere soon for school.Mike jumped on it and was emailing nd calling to check up on us and making sure we were hanging on there.He worked so fast at trying to help.It was getting him what he needed on my end that took a little longer.But he stuck through and we were granted a check for $2000.to get a vehicleand rent a place and my husband could go back to work!These people really do care about the well.being of not only the veteran, but also the family as a whole.And I have never had someone really understand until I spoke with Mike.He really cares.I hope that more will donate to them so they can keep helping.I can tell you the money really gets used to help the families living hard struggles.And they also keep in touch with other non profits to help even further.This organization truly has a passion for those that have served and after they are home many don't see or understand the struggles are so different.Life can be so hard on these families.Its sometimes easier when someone gets out of jail and goes back into civilion life.They have had a different life defending our country so day to day life can sometimes be to much for someone that was turned into a soldier. I am thanking God up above for making people care about the job we have done and will continue to do if we could. They have the utmost respect for the military and they treated me like a Soldier. Since I have been injured from Iraq, I have suffered a great deal of hardship due to financial burden from hospital issue and divorce. I almost went homeless if it had not been for onbehalf helping me pay the rest of my rent that I was short. I am still struggling and barely have food to eat, but I have a place to lay my head and still feel I have some sort of stability. Thanking each and everyone of the volunteers and donors for their generous donations and prayers. God knows I am so grateful for this program, I clearly feel they saved my life.

My family experience a series of unfortunate events that ended with a family member passing and theoonly car we had completely dying on us the mechanics said it would cost nearly $4000 to fix we had no clue what we were going to do. Onbehalf came in and saved us with there donation of $1000 dollars no it was not enough to fix the car but it did help put us in a position where we had a buffer to provide for our family and at least start the process to fix the car. Our car is now fixed and we our in the process of trying to find another one thank you onbehalf.

I met Mike one beautiful Fall day trapshooting south of Boston. We struck up a conversation and I immediately sensed he was a special guy. He is kind, easy and fun to talk to, interesting and interested. Oh, and let me add....charming. I asked him about the shirt he was wearing and he told me about Onbehalf.org. SOLD!! I'd been looking for a way to get involved in a charity that helps our brave troops. I am so looking forward to organizing a fundraiser in my area. I also hope to find other ways to be involved. My fiance (now husband), Jessie, was injured in Afghanistan in Oct. 2011. We reached out to Onbehalf.org to see if they could be of assistance in getting his grandmother and 3 siblings to NC from upstate NY so they would be able to attend our wedding that took place in Nov. 2013. They provided a grant for their hotel stay for the weekend of the wedding, which was a huge help. We dealt directly with Mike, who is super nice and a great guy. Looking forward to working with them again. :)

I am an O.I.F. Combat Veteran and I reached out to onbehalf to get financial assistance through my rough time. I have nothing but outstanding and excellent things to say about onbehalf. They helped me out in such short notice and I am truly thankful for what they did.

Where to begin? I've known Mike since we were freshmen in college. Even then he always was committed and involved in the community. Even at our apathetic college, he always genuinely cared about the well being of others and the world at large. His service to his country and continued service to his fellow veterans of this country is consistent with the Mike I knew even as a college kid. I was so impressed [but not surprised in the least] when I found out about OnBehalf.

Fast forward to today. I have been a Marine wife for nearly ten years. I have seen a lot of struggling from families in our Marine Corps community with these wars. Some of the families I know have been through eight, nine, or even ten deployments. We've lost friends to combat. We've had friends injured in combat. We have many friends who have not come back emotionally whole.

One of these emotionally ruined friends was the husband of one of the very first Marine wives to welcome me into the community. This woman gave selflessly to hold me up when my husband was attached to another regiment and deployed with two weeks notice. She has done this for countless others.

A few weeks ago, after retiring honorably this spring with 20 years of service and four tours of duty in Iraq, her husband took his own life in their garage. He left her alone with their three children without insurance or spousal benefits. She didn't even have the money to cover his cremation. In a panic, fellow Marine wives and I began contacting organizations and trying to spread the word to raise money. On a whim of desperation, I contacted Michael at OnBehalf.

Within days, they had a check out to my friend and had contacted local civic organizations to help. My heart is so full and I'm choked up just recounting this story. I had donated to this organization in the past, but usually donated to the Semper Fi Fund. Because of the quick and personalized response to a military family in need, I will now be donating to OnBehalf instead.

I am a U.S. Army Veteran ( Purple Heart Recipient ) that served in OIF in Iraq in 2004. I was seriously injured in combat on July 2, 2004 and suffered 3rd degree burns and injuries to my head.
I have had my ups and downs financially due to all my VA appointments, having to miss a great deal of work and its caused some financial hardships. Well, I contacted OnBehalf.org and told them that I was in a bind and if there was any information or anything that they could do for me in order to get some assistance. I received an email back from OnBehalf.org a couple of days later telling me that they service Veterans in the East Coast, but that they don't like to turn their backs on any Vet, especially a single father of 2 kids living in Texas and that they would see what they could do for us. I am happy to say that they blessed me with more than what I could have imagined a couple of days later. OnBehalf.org was and is an organization that I can genuinely say that cares for those that have served and continue to serve. They took care of my kids and I when I didn't know where else to turn. Every step of my experience with OnBehalf.Org has been not only professional, but interactive and rewarding. With operational expenses totaling less than 10% it was difficult to justify giving to the larger organizations who expenses often run in the 75-90% range. There are very few charities in which the founders will interact with you, personally, and provide you a detailed understanding as to where your money goes and who it helps. OnBehalf's all volunteer founders do just that. Help keep these guys in business, they are the real deal!

On Behalf was able to help my husband and I during some of our worst days. He was medevac'd out of theatre with catastrophic injuries and was mishandled after a series of hospitals back to the base. I exhausted savings staying in a hotel with my husband to care for him, awaiting orders to come home on remote care. On Behalf, helped.. to the rescue really! These guys have a heart when nobody else did.. strongly recommend.

I am an ambassador for OnBehalf.org. Everytime I get the word out about this organization my main point is what makes it unique. Not only was it started by veterans for veterans, but the director is very accessible to anyone visiting the website. I couldn't thank this organization enough for the help of financial assistance given to me and my family when we needed it most! I was wounded in Afghanistan in Jan of 2009 while serving from 2008-2009 by a IED. I took shrapnel, burns, and permanently broken lower vertebra and tailbone, TBI, PTSD. From transitioning for active URL to medically retired without their assistance me and my family would have been in a very bad situation with myself, wife, and two kids. I am forever grateful for the assistance they've done for me and to know they'll be there if I ever need them again!

Ive been a donor with onbehalf for several years now. First clas organization, ran by first class professionals! Their great Americans.

My VFW selected OnBehalf.org as one of the beneficiaries of our second annual Hole in One for Heroes charity golf tournament. From the moment they were notified, they jumped in to help us in any way they could. A website was set up and maintained for us, items were donated for the "goody bags," the founder's father drummed up bunches of sponsors we never would have been able to get on our own and worked tirelessly on our behalf, and both founder and father worked on the course the day of the tournament - all for our local veterans. We are just a small part of their network, but we are indebted for their energy, commitment and help. Our veterans are very fortunate to have OnBehalf on their side!

Not only am I a volunteer, I am also a "Client served". While going through my Army medical board process I was essentially hung out to dry financially. Speaking with the administrators I was able to get money that I needed to pay bills, repair my car and put food on the table. Now that things are evening out with the Army I find myself offering my time to this group helping people going through the Veterans Affairs system and medical board processes. Times are tough enough as is; nothing more needs to be added. It's a shame that the military and government which we swore to protect puts their veterans through the trauma of bureaucracy just to get basic needs and benefits met. Saying that, this group is testament to the human spirit of compassion and camaraderie.

I have worked with these guys basically since the inception of their organization. I have never seen more dedicated individuals to helping their fellow comrades. I have worked with other organizations but have never ever been called or written personal notes or letters of gratitude. These guys are continuing to support our military men and families and I will stay with them until the last guy or girl needs help. This is truely a 5 star and if you had 10 I would give them 20. Thanks guys for all you do!

Just as Mike did, I am without a doubt rating OnBehalf with 5 Stars. We work hard to make life "a little easier" for wounded Veterans and their families, and could not do it without the amazing help from friends, family, supporters, donors, and volunteers. It is with great pleasure to give back to those who have given their all.

Of course I'm going to give us 5 stars, I'm the founder and director!
