Omar’s Dream Foundation focuses on the education and technological advancements of students in the hospital that aren’t able to attend school. Allowing them access to their education and a way to connect to society helps them deal with any anxiety or depression which often arises during their treatment.
The foundation was created in honor of Omar Hassan, a 9 year old boy diagnosed with leukemia who wanted nothing more than to stay connected with his school while he underwent chemotherapy. Through his original idea with the help of his parents, he attended his fourth grade class from his hospital room. He also was able to stay in touch with his friends during a time before social media and iPhones.
Omar had a dream of extending this program to other children. While Omar lost his battle to leukemia on April 7, 2012, his legacy continues through Omar's Dream foundation.
Omar's Dream Foundation is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.
EIN:46-5381842
