Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Arts & Culture, Arts Education, Cultural & Ethnic Awareness
Mission: 2.1 The mission of the Association is to support the area's Chinese community in preserving Chinese cultural traditions and to promote cultural exchanges between the Chinese community and the local Olympia area community.
2.2 Objectives
2.2.1 Provide for the learning of Chinese language and culture
2.2.2 Provide networking opportunities for members
2.2.3 Conduct celebration events for major traditional Chinese holidays
2.2.4 Promote and support cultural exchanges between the Chinese culture and other cultures
Target demographics: Raising funds to local public schools, libraries, and senior centers. Provide Chinese language study and Culture learning.
Geographic areas served: Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater
Programs: Olympia Chinese School is operated by Olympia Area Chinese Association. We provide different classes from beginner to high level. The students can choose either Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. Besides learning PinYin (how to pronounce), Radicals (how the Chinese character is built), Reading, Speaking, and Writing, the youth students will have an opportunity to join the Washington State Chinese Language & Talent Competition each year.
