Programs: Scholarships:the niu foundation's ultimate goal is --- and always has been ---- to help our students. Niu donors make it possible to award scholarships and scholastic awards at a time when our students need our help more than ever. Rising tuition, dwindling state support, limited job opportunities, and scarcity of loans make it one of the hardest times in history to get through school. These scholarships not only support niu's tradition of providing accessible educational opportunities, they also help the university maintain its commitment to academic excellence by attracting more highly qualified students.
