Causes: Job Training
Mission: Develop lifelong workforce skills by connecting young people to the earth, cultures, and traditions through historic preservation work and outdoor service.
Programs: Minnesota historical society -- completed a 26 week field season with 24 americorps members who logged 18,609 hours of historic preservation work and improved 26 historic structures. Corps members expanded their skills under the mentorship of 8 technical specialists and developed relationships with 22 project hosts in 22 different communities all over minnesota.

In addition to supporting our field season (see 4a) the deed funds were used to:recruit crew leaders and corps members that represent the diversity of young adults in minnesota and build relationships to continue outreach and recruitment; and connect with professional trades individuals to share skills with corps members, volunteers and staff.

Technical specialists trained and worked with corps members on projects including: cemetery restoration, building and structural preservation, deconstruction, exterior building maintenance and repairing concrete and masonry structures.
