Causes: Community Mental Health Centers, Mental Health
Mission: Northeastern mental health center-our mission is your vision for health, wellness and recovery.
Programs: Nemhc provides psychiatric and mental health services to consumers in a 10 county catchment area. Services are provided in the home, community, or office at the discretion of the individuals served. In fy 2017, psychiatric services were provided to 31 children and 1,175 adults (over 21 years old). Mental health (psychotherapy) services were provided to 1,299 adults and 798 children. Substance abuse services were provided to 105 adults and 34 children.
nemhc's almost home program provides residential care facilities for children. The almost home program includes three homes in aberdeen, south dakota. 3,568 bed days were provided to children in these three homes.
northeastern mental health center licenses therapeutic foster care homes and trains the foster parents. The therapeutic foster care home provides an environment conducive to the physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth and well-being of youth up to the age 18. Along with providing ongoing individualized training for the foster parents, nemhc clinicians provide therapy and case management services to foster care youth in placement to ensure that the needs of the child are met. For fy2017, the center averaged 1 child per month in foster care.
