Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries
Mission: The food pantry has been serving the people of north texas since 1979, when a massive tornado hit wichita falls. In 2015, the food pantry became the floral heights community food pantry and remains dedicated to feeding the hungry.
Programs: In 2017, the fhcfp served 27,448 individuals including 9,541 families, 9,125 children under the age of 18, and 1,787 veterans. The fhcfp is open monday, tuesday, and thursday from 9:00 to 11:00. In addition to food, fresh produce is given out on tuesdays and thursdays. Clients can use the services once every 30 days and the fhcfp is signing up an average of 289 new clients each month. The fhcfp is currently staffed by volunteers. 20-25 individuals volunteer each week to distribute food.
