Wichita Falls Nonprofits and Charities

This organization is led by world-class people. They are starting small but have huge ambitions to help hundreds, thousands and even millions of enslaved people. If you ever get a chance, speak in-person with Harley, Keith or Krystal and if possible, the Operators they train to do incredible, superhuman things for the sake of rescuing children, women and men. <br> <br>There was not a dry eye when a group of us got to do just that, speaking with one of the teams they had trained, watching a demonstration of the kind of work they do and hearing testimonies of children rescued. <br> <br>They are most certainly worthy of supporting.

After more than a dozen years volunteering with the Friends of the Wichita Falls Public Library, I have seen installation of 40 Little Free Libraries across the county, hundreds of thousands of books saved from destruction in the landfill, free books given to children, home school families, veterans, people out of work, pastors, church libraries and at least 32 other non-profits and social service agencies, two jails and a prison. I am so proud of our organization for saving so many books and making them available to everyone in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.

Maybe They Need To Rewrite Their Mission Statement or Start Living By It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br><br>I went here from another state fleeing from a violent assault, rapist and predator! Left almost everything I had! It started out great and was made to feel very welcomed, safe and given hope that someone cared enough to help me start a brand new life which has not been easy at my age, with my health issues and what I've been thru! <br>Well not so good after a few days of busting my hump hour after hour, day after day, night after night dealing with trying to find a job and coping! Watching other's do nothing but play on their phone's, talking to guy's, having friends and family pick them up with no intentions of finding a job or even trying to better themselves getting extension after extension after extension!<br>Meanwhile, I'm having to beg for bus passes, beg for extensions by always breaking my neck to provide proof that I have an interview with someone! The harder I tried, the harder it got for me there! I get an interview and get "The Job" through WSC, however because my "drug & physical test" hadn't been scheduled yet, I couldn't get an extension and am thrown out on the streets to the wolves again! Let me add that because I didn't and do NOT have an addiction problem it actually hurt me and the help that I could have been offered, SMH ??????<br>As of now, my bed is a picnic table under a pavilion in a park with a few other homeless people and food when someone is kind enough to bring some by because the food stamp office can't seem to get it together and no place to shower or wash clothes. However, I continued with the job process until I finished it and am now working a night shift which disqualifies me from The Salvation Army which turned me away because I was trying to WORK!<br><br>AND <br><br>with The Good Lord's help somehow managed to finish my college admissions and am currently working on my Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science/Criminal Justice & Homeland Security!<br>ALL FROM MY PICNIC TABLE because the Refuge won't allow me back for 30 day's!!!!!!<br><br>It's a sad world when people call themselves Christians yet they continue to coddle, help and enable the one's that truly don't want anything out of life but a free ride while the rest are cast aside like unwanted trash until a good majority of them are pushed to the point of mental incompetence or another statistic of an addict ??????<br><br>GOD BLESS THOSE that do not fall into this catagory AND especially THOSE of you that DON'T ??????

Helping people every day with housing and utility needs - especially in this time of COVID-19.

Kemp Wildlife helps injured or orphaned baby wildlife. They truly care and go out of their way to save these babies. They also educate the public and are truly making a difference in their community. They are a beacon of light and love for nature's most vulnerable animals.

Where did the volunteer ladies go who deliver the e cards to patients? How do you get in touch with them?

As a Red Cross volunteer, I helped many local fire victims in the immediate aftermath of their disaster. Most were living in rental property and had no insurance. We have the pleasure of being able to refer our clients to Disaster Helping Hand to assist in replacing furniture, appliances and household items needed to rebuild their lives. Mr. Leon Green, who is the founder and head of this local non profit organization works tirelessly in his mission to help those who suffer losses due to disaster. He is the real thing. His mission is to help those recover their lives when they suffer from a disaster. He accepts donations of these household items and distributes them to the disaster victims. This is a local, homegrown organization that is working hard to help those in need and deserves the support of the people in the community. I personally give at every opportunity because I feel the first priority is to help at home.

I have had the pleasure of working with Zavala in many different capacities. I find this non-profit organization is made up of dedicated individuals who put their heart and soul into their community. The organization empowers the Hispanic community to become life learners from Pre-K to adults. I will continue to work along side these wonder people in our community.

I have loved animals all my life, so volunteering, helping with fence checks, fostering & working on different committees have been very rewarding! Humane Society of Wichita County has many awesome women & men who work together to save many dogs, cats & other animals! These people give so much time, effort & money, but most of all, HEART, to animals who have been abused, abandoned, surrendered, lost & unclaimed! Thank you Humane Society of Wichita County for all you do........You are appreciated!!!!
