Mission: The mission of the North Carolina Association of Community Development Corporations (NCACDC) is to strengthen the North Carolina economy and build a better tomorrow for all North Carolinians by advancing innovative, market driven, economic development strategies that create opportunity-rich communities where North Carolina residents live and work. Company Overview Since its inception, NCACDC has provided statewide leadership in strengthening communities and increasing opportunities in NC, bringing together residents, business leaders and governments to provide data-driven solutions that benefit everyone. Utilizing our flexible statewide delivery network and leveraging strategic partnerships and collaborations NCACDC employs cutting edge, community-based responses to pressing economic issues. These partnerships have strengthened and revitalized hundreds of communities across our state and attracted millions of dollars in leveraged investment.
Results: Our impact: Advocacy Foreclosure prevention/housing counseling funding funneled through 43 organizations statewide resulting in the following savings reported in 2012: • $10.7MM in preserved equity • $94.2MM in avoided investor losses Research and Development As part of a pilot program, investments of $380,000 were added in residential energy efficiency improvements in a high utility cost region. Volunteer Hours Our AmeriCorps VISTA program contributed the following volunteer service hours during 2012: • 17,000 hours of service provided by VISTAs, plus • 422 hours of service provided by 65 community volunteers recruited by VISTAs through July 2012 Technical Assistance Hours We provided over 3,000 hours of technical assistance to members and allies throughout NC in 2012.
