Mission: The services we provide to our members are heritage education and education in regard to state and federal opportunities offered to the native american communities of florida and the united states. The primary activity we use to bring our people together in order to accomplish this goal is the pow - wow.
Programs: In the spring of 2014 we sponsored our spring pow-wow. Approximately 400 native americans attended the function. Native american heritage was taught such as dance and music. The native american culture was discussed and services provided to the group through the state and federal government were discussed. We considered the attendance and the support given to our members to be a great accomplishment.
in the fall of 2014 we had our fall pow-wow. There were approximately 400 native americans in attendance. We offered native american dance, music, and culture booths and displays. Teaching the young children is very important to the tribe in order to ensure they grow up knowing their heritage. We offered information not only on our tribe but government programs aimed at assisting the native american people.
one of the main goals of our tribe is to encourage education and the growth of native american people within society. We award scholarships to students within our tribe that want to advance in their university studies. This year we had no graduating seniors to participate in the program.
