Mission: This corporations purpose is to discover, memorialize, preserve and protect the history and culture of the flathead reservation and early montana. It is designed for the enrichment, education, and recreation of local residents and visitors.
Programs: The ninepipes museum of early montana was established in 1998. The museums goal is to collect, identify, and display physical objects of art and culture of early life montana as it relates to the flathead reservation and early montana . The museum offers an extensive exhibit of western art, artifacts and photographs to educational groups, local residents, and area visitors.
the museum completed a capital campaign to upgrade the hvac and security systems in the building where the museum is currently located. The systems were purchased for $50817 and $2179, respectively. The funds were received from state grants, foundation grants and private donations. The systems were added to the museums balance sheet and are being depreciated over the systems useful life.
author rick steber presented his books for kids program for local middle-school children encouraging reading, writing, and sharing oral histories. Rick traveled to the local schools and at the end of each appearance he presented each student with one of his autographed books. Rick also did a presentation of jackson sundown, the nez perce 1916 pendleton roundup world champion bronc rider, at the museum. This is a two year program with revenues being recieved in 2017 and expensed in 2018.
