I have attended most of the performances by New Worlds and every one has been wonderful. The producers and actors have all been very talented.
New Worlds Theatre promotes the legacy of Yiddish literature. Many of these Yiddish playwrights have never been translated and/ or produced on stage before New Worlds Project.
New Worlds Theatre Project is a wonderful opportunity to see old Yiddish theatre in English. The actors and directors do a fabulous job translating the plays. They are consistently wonderful plays.
Fine original translation and well directed, casted and acted, staged reading of
"Carcass" a little known piece by Yiddish playwright Peretz Hirshbein.
As a college teacher of Yiddish lit ( far from NYC) I was glad a visit coincided with the performance.
A bonus was meeting two former students in the audience who were also impressed by the performance. I hope funding can be developed to allow taking the shows on the road.

New Worlds Theatre Project brings alive the past and in doing so shows us what is relevant and meaningful in our world today. The productions I've seen have always been a hallmark of professionalism and creativity. They're consistently beautifully rendered by the best directors and actors New York has to offer.
New Worlds Theatre Project revives worthy plays from the Yiddish repertory, performed in English, which address timeless issues that apply to audiences of all ethnicities, races, and religions.
This is a hidden gem of a theater. The performances i have been to are just terrific. The translations capture the soul of the original in a way that resonates with modern audiences. The staging and directing are original. The acting is excellent. I strongly urge anyone with an interest not just in Yiddish theater -- but in good theater -- to attend.
I'v attended wonderful productions. New Worlds does great and valuable work in preserving and making accessible great works of Yiddish theatre.
An important organization that unearths the all-too-unknown drama of Yiddish theater. It puts on marvelous productions and keeps serious Yiddish theater and literature alive.
I am an enthusiastic supporter of this wonderful organization and it work to keep a vibrant and valuable culture alive. Their dedication and artistic goals are impressive.
This is a wonderful theatre company bringing plays that would not otherwise be seen in English to a new audience.
I was a stage manager with New Worlds and I found working with the team there to be a wonderful experience. They put up provocative work in a genre that New York audiences are rarely exposed to.
I have volunteered with the New Worlds Theatre Project for three months now and I can honestly say that I am immensely impressed with the initiatives of this organization. The samples of plays that I have read have been fantastic and it would be a great shame if they never had the chance to be performed on stage.
The New Worlds Theatre Project is an exceptionally dedicated theater performing wonderful productions of Yiddish plays translated into English. This cultural landmark is so important to enriching theater for all audiences. Bravo!
The new world theatre project productions have all been outstanding! It is very important to continue the Yiddish culture, just as it is any other culture.
New Worlds Theatre Project is doing something no one else is doing-- presenting Yiddish theatrical masterpieces that have never been translated into English before-- and doing it astoundingly well. I could not believe that more people hadn't discovered the astounding talent and quality this company routinely displays.
NWTP fills a unique role in the theater world - presenting classic Yiddish plays in English for accessibility by a wide audience. The productions I have attended have been highly professional.
NWTP has a unique and vibrant take on the world of Yiddish culture. The plays it brings to the English speaking world are vital pieces of stagecraft that without their efforts will be lost along with the Eastern European Jewish world from which they came. It is critically important that we save these plays and that we support New Worlds Theatre Project.
