Mission: New stories helps individuals, organizations, and communities shed old ways of doing and thinking and step into the new stories of their lives. Our purpose is to utilize and expand the field of story as a primary tool for social innovation by gathering, co-evolving, and disseminating new images and practices that inspire, encourage and guide creative responses to the unprecedented cultural transformation of our times.
Programs: Thriving resilience communities collaboratory (trcc) is a community action network that connects the growing community resilience movement to more of itself in support of large-scale social transformation towards a just and thriving society. Trcc hosts deep dialogues and gatherings, seeds and incubates collaborative projects, and fosters synergy among leaders. Trcc highlights for 2013 include three leadership retreats and four collaborative mini-projects building resilience tool-kits for local communities.
resilient japan was birthed out of the triple disasters in japan of 2011- earthquake/flood/nuclear meltdown. Using art of hosting approaches to participatory leadership and future center structures from business, bob stilger began extensive work in the disaster area, inviting people into dialog to grieve, to dream, to find a way forward and to begin to develop new collaborative partnerships. In 2013, bob wrote and published a book on stories and learning from japan as well as numerous blogs and two major articles. Disaster as a springboard, published in december, 2013 in the reflections journal of the society of organizational learning and fukushima's future, published in february, 2014 on the open democracy: transformation website.
the storydome is a unique, state-of-the art immersive story-telling platform using digital media to create comprehensive, awe-inspiring visual stories of all scales that shift consciousness toward a more ecological worldview. The flagship production "earth portal, a guided journey through the universe" premiered for six months at the seattle center and an eight- month ngss science curriculum was created for all sixth graders in the south whidbey school system.
new stories including great transition stories and distance learners- includes live and internet based educational conferences, workshops, seminars, courses and gatherings for essential, leading-edge wisdom of transformative change in the form of great stories. These are core narratives, which frame experiences, are universally understandable and highly useful for navigating through unprecedented times. Other projects that help research and name, tell and live into new possibilities for conscously co-creating a sustainable and thriving relationship with earth and one-another. Educational resource center, creative collaboration and project incubator in support of emerging new stories for who we are as humanity, what we are becoming, how we are changing and where we are going together.
