Causes: Domestic Violence, Family Violence Shelters, Homeless & Housing
Mission: The center provides resources for victims of domestic violence and homelessness including shelter services, emergency counseling and referrals to other agencies; assists families with problems of domestic violence; provides education on problems and solutions of domestic violence; works with law enforcement agencies.
Programs: Provided shelter to 307 women, 11 men, and 156 children who were victims of domestic violence and/or homelessness. Provided 1,200 interventions, fielded 345 crisis calls, provided 6,014 casework hours, and logged 59,904 hours of volunteer service. Also held 128 women's support groups with 221 attending.
rape crisis hotline and rape education; provided legal and health resource coordination; provided 20 rape and domestic violence training for 159 legal and medical professionals; organized 15 community presentations on rape/violence prevention and awareness with 514 attending.
provided and maintained transitional housing apartments for 10 women and their children who have been victims of domestic violence. Provided social and financial education while tenants worked toward self-sufficiency.
