Mission: New England Light Opera is a non-profit professional theater company dedicated to bringing to the audiences of the Boston area a unique theatrical and musical experience. NELO produces professional, fully staged productions of operetta and musical theater rarely performed in the Boston area. We have three main objectives:1) To enrich the cultural life of Boston by producing two fully staged productions in English accompanied by FULL ORCHESTRA.2) To build and support the artistic community of Boston by giving professional performance opportunities to LOCAL singers, actors, instrumentalists, directors, etc.3) To strengthen and ensure the viability and historical legacy of significant works of musical theater and operetta through research, reconstruction, translation, and, most importantly, PERFORMANCE.
