I have been a member almost a year. It is wonderful to not feel alone in this process of separation and divorce. I have met many supportive people. These people understand what I am going through. No matter what your situation is, we have feelings and experiences in common. It's comforting. I love the opportunities to share at each meeting and get out and meet new people. There are also classes by professionals from coaches, to therapists, to people who work in divorce law to teach us the next steps, what to look out for, etc. This has helped tremendously. In addition there are recommendations that come from the group. And I am looking forward to attending the social outings, like dinner and a movie.

I have been a member of New Beginnings for over two years. I initially joined, thinking a support group would be helpful while going through my divorce after 30+ years of marriage. What I have found, however, is that New Beginnings is so much more! This non-profit offers informational workshops, discussion groups on relevant topics, social gatherings, and so much more. I never would have thought that I would have made so many new and wonderful friends (of all ages and genders) in such a short amount of time. I know I am not alone in feeling that the friendships made through New Beginnings are often deeper than some long-standing friendships. If you’re thinking of joining, New Beginnings welcomed me in with compassion and understanding, and will welcome you in too!

I have been a member of New Beginnings for over a year and a half. During that time, I have met and become friends with several people from this group. The support of others going through the difficult journey of Divorce is essential. There are many in this group that help others by their kindness and caring connecting gestures such as phone calls and friendly visits as well as besides the well organized meetings. the relevant meeting topics and the terrific facilitators create enriching and supportive experiences for people in transition. The overall management of New Beginnings is excellent!

A friend at work told me about New Beginnings so I attended a meeting and joined. I was embarassed about my pending divorce, so I transferred jobs within the company and told no one about the divorce. I felt like a failure. At meetings I learned there is such a thing as opposite sex friends and got hugs at the end of the meetings, which truely helps when you are alone. The discussions were held at members homes which is a comfortable setting and included topics that were relevant; it included people in various stages of recovery. The ones more advanced provided hope. I didn't feel alone. I eventually became a meeting facilatator which helped me later in my job. Having a support group to help you through the divorce process, talking with others going through the craziness truely helps. Thank you New Beginnings!
