Programs: The nevada discovery museum, dba the terry lee wells nevada discovery museum, (museum) is a nonprofit educational institution founded in 2004 to inspire curiosity, creativity and the joy of lifelong learning. It is dedicated to providing innovative, interactive, trans-disciplinary exhibits and leading edge programming in a safe, nurturing, and playful environment. In 2005, the museum launched a capital campaign to raise funds to renovate a building and construct a discovery museum in downtown reno, nevada. The museum began construction of the museum during 2010 and completed construction in september 2011, at which time it opened its doors to the public. The museum offers informal and formal educational programming as well as community outreach programs.
