Mission: The mission of the american legion nevada boys' state program is to develop future leaders by educating and inspiring nevada's youth. The program strives to create an understanding of an appreciation for our democratic form of government while encouraging a commitment to future service.
Programs: For the 2017 session the program had appox. 140 participants in the american legion's boys' state program which is a unique summertime educational program that did not emphasize classroom lectures and textbook learning. Instead, the program focused on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with governing bodies, political parties, lobbyists, and elected public officials which in its design mirror the structure and operation of the nevada state government.
