Programs: The nevada bar foundation (the foundation) was formed to promote/provide law related education to members of the public, develop/improve legal education, engage in research in the field of law and legal practice, assist qualified individuals in the study of law, and to fund the charitable and tax exempt activities of the state bar as reported in part xv. During 2014, the nevada bar foundation (foundation) assumed the operations of the interest on lawyers trust accounts (iolta) program previously operated by the justice league of nevada (league). The purpose of the iolta program is to provide legally related services to the poor, to victims of domestic violence and to children protected by or in need of protection of the juvenile court; promoting law related education programs for members of the public; and providing similar programs which qualify for tax-exempt status. In the consumation of this transfer of operations, the foundation received net assets from the league amounting to $3,820,186 and approved grant distributions at the end of the year in the amount of $2,942,055 as reported in part xv.
