Programs: For 25 years, this two-story, brick apartment building located at 37 west gates street, south of downtown columbus, ohio, has provided 16 one-bedroom units of safe, affordable housing linked to rental subsidies and services for low-income persons disabled with mental illness. The part-time resident manager, an experienced case manager, monitors residents' independent living, provides crisis intervention, facilitates individual and group meetings with residents and support providers, assists with property maintenance, and fosters good community relations. In 2017, 15 of the 16 disabled, low-income persons (93. 8%) either remained housed in the program or exited to other permanent housing. On average, residents have stayed housed in the program for more than 8 years.
