Mission: The mission of nelson mandela elementary is to provide quality instruction that demonstrates all students can learn and develop academically, emotionally, socially and physically. Nelson mandela elementary is committed to maximizing the educational success of all students and bridging learning and achievement gaps.
Programs: The school building was purchased in july 2014, and improvements began in august. All demolition, asbestos abatement, architectural drawings, design documents, bidding process and contracts assigned to sub-contractors were accomplished by december 2014. Major renovation, new construction and rewiring were at a significant completion by december 2014. The four major areas of school subject content were researched and determined. Social studies and science will mimic the curriculum in the omaha public schools. Spalding (the writing road to reading) will be the language arts program and singapore math will be for mathematics instruction. Art, music, pe and health will be provided as well.
