Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Environment, Parks & Playgrounds
Mission: To promote and assist in the advancement and development of the recreation and parks profession through education and advocacy in north carolina.
Programs: Statewide activities & special events - teams represent local park & recreation departments, and compete in state tournaments, such as, football, softball, baseball & basketball. Approximately 60 departments participate. The number of people that participate vary from year to year.
publications - the association publishes a quarterly magazine of 24-36 pages. A total of 3,000 magazines per quarter were distributed.
annual conference and various workshops provide on going training during the year. Group size varies from 15 to 50 for daily workshops, and up to 600 at annual conference.
