Mission: The council is a nonprofit civilian, educational and advocacy organization that supports america' sea services: the navy, marine corps, coast guard and us - flag merchant marine.
Programs: Home front san diego: provided financial and in-kind support to the families of junior sea service members having short term difficulties due to deployment and/or reassignment. In 2017 we assisted 592 requests for various needs, including auto repair, food assistance, holiday support and filled furniture needs.
kreiglowa scholarship program: provided scholarships to the children of sea service members. In 2017 18 scholarships were awarded. All candidates must complete an application. If the candidate has had unusual or extraordinary financial hardship in the family due to loss of job, income or additional expenses, then they may also complete a special circumstances form to be submitted with the application package. Graduating senior in the top 10% of high school graduating class if school ranks or 3. 6 cumulative gpa or higher (unweighted grades); they must show evidence of acceptance by an accredited 4-year college or university in the united states.
recognition program : provided recognition and nominal awards to members of the sea services identified by their commands for outstanding performance, such as sailor of the quarter, marine recruiter of the quarter etc. . Welcomed home ships and squadrons returning from deployment. Recognized outstanding local nrotc graduates.
education: maintained member outreach and education on the need for the sea services. Hosted monthly luncheon and breakfast meetings featuring high level sea services leaders. Published monthly newsletter and maintained educational website. Youth services - provided grants to local sea cadet and njrotc programs.
