Causes: Civil Rights, Lesbian & Gay Rights, LGBTQ
Mission: Build the organizational capacity of local lgbt aapi groups, develop leadership, promote visibility, educate the community, enhance grassroots organizing, and expand collaborations and challenge homophobia and racism
Programs: Nqapia conducted four (4) regional leadership training summits in the northeast, midwest, south, and west coast that engaged 220 lgbtq api organizational leaders. Nqapia ran an lgbtq youth camp in the bay area. At each, attendees networked, created plans for collaborative organizing, community building, and leadership development. Nqapia organized eight (8) direct action trainings across the country for over 300 activists and queerazaadi actions on 9/11 to fight back against hate violence in seven cities: los angeles, austin, boston, chicago, dc, new orleans and phildelphia.
