Programs: Lung health issues program - the journalist-to-journalist project of the national press foundation and the international union against tuberculosis and lung disease (the union) offered the 6th annual j2j program at the 45th union world conference on lung health in barcelona, spain. The j2j training was held on tuesday-thursday, 29 - 31 october 2014, and then journalists participated in the global conference. The three-day j2j program is designed for working journalists who want to increase their knowledge and skill at developing stories on lung health and related issues, including tuberculosis; tb/hiv; asthma, copd and other non-communicable diseases; and tobacco control. The union world conference on lung health is the largest annual conference focusing on lung health issues as they affect low-and middle-income countries.

retirement issues: npf's 10th program on retirement issues was held may 18-21, 2014. Journalists received updates on topics including chained cpi, other proposed social security changes, the cost of medical and nursing home care in retirement and financial literacy.
annual awards dinner: the national press foundation annual awards dinner recognizing journalistic achievement is one of the largest media dinners in washington, bringing together more than 1,000 journalists, media, public relations and corporate executives, policy makers, and trade groups. Annual npf awards: the national press foundation presents several highly prestigious awards to journalists and helps administer journalism awards presented by other organizations. We award accomplishments in broadcasting, print, and online journalism, as well as editorial cartoons. The awards have different criteria. Some invite journalists to submit their work for judging, while others do not. Additional programs encompassing cancer, obesity, and shot at life issues: our free, all-expenses-paid programs help journalists understand the complex issues they cover. The programs are balanced and non-partisan, with on-the-record speakers including expert journalists, authorities and policymakers. Programs for international journalists are presented under the journalist-to-journalist banner, and offer enhanced opportunities in other countries to grapple with journalism practices and discuss issues.
