Causes: Job Training, Sheltered Employment
Mission: Nowcc provides experienced workers to several government agencies using cost-effective, flexible, innovative and contemporary staffing options.
Programs: Federal grants:through the united states environmental protection agency (epa) senior environmental employment (see) program, nowcc recruits and enrolls experienced workers (age 55+) to assist federal staff in epa offices and labs in technical and administrative assignments throughout the country. Through the united states department of agriculture (usda) natural resources conservation service (nrcs) agricultural conservation experienced services (aces) program, nowcc recruits and enrolls experienced workers to assist federal staff in technical assignments throughout the country. Through the united states forest service (usfs) agricultural conservation experienced services (aces) program, nowcc recruits and enrolls experienced workers to help train, mentor and provide temporary technical service in conservation related programs. Through the united states department of labor (dol) senior community service employment program (scsep), nowcc recruits experienced workers to participate in community service and work-based job training programs. Authorized by the older americans act, the program provides training for low-income, unemployed seniors.
