Mission: The mission of the national consortium of secondary stem schools, the nation's foremost alliance of schools dedicated to transforming mathematics, science and technology education, is to create synergies among schools engaged in educational innovation by shaping national policy, fostering collaboration and developing, testing, implementing, and disseminating exemplary programs.
Programs: Programs/goalsprofessional conference - to allow educators in secondary schools and colleges to share best practices for working with high ability students in math, science, and technology. Summer student institutes - to identify the needs of students in specialized secondary schools and college programs as they make the transition to college with topics in math, science, technology and curricular development. Summer student workshops - to learn about emerging technologies for science and math course with focus on middle school students. Student conference - to help students to understand key topics facing their generations today, tomorrow and future. Membership - enhanced the membership web services with the connection consortium professional (ccp) with the assistance of neumont university staff member and students. Served the membership by providing profile listing, seals of recognition for diplomas, newsletters and journals for collaboration. Fostered new partnerships to enhance the naional visibility of the organization. Newsletter (two published ) - to inform member institutions of technological and educational developments at member institutions. It is now web based. Journal (two issues annually) - to provide a forum for students and faculty to publish articles and papers relating to research and innovations at member institutions. Print copies and web posted at www. Ncsssmst. Orgwebsite (ncsss. Org) - for members to exchange instructional ideas and post items of interest regarding math, science, and technology in our schools.
