Mission: The atlanta chapter of the natas, inc. , the southeast chapter of the national academy of television arts and sciences, is a non profit association of television professionals dedicated to mentoring and recognizing excellence in visual media. The organization provides educational and professional development programs for its members and presents an annual emmy(r) award presentation ceremony recognizing the best in local and regional news, programming and visual media crafts.
Programs: Annual emmy(r) awards program - awards are given annually to television professionals in the chapter's chartered region for excellence in visual media production of news, programming and for excellence in television and production crafts.
membership program - natas solicits and actively recruits distinguished professionals from the television and production community to participate in education programs, provide networking and career advancement opportunities for the organization's members.
gold & silver circle program - natas southeast chapter seeks to honor industry professionals with at least 50 years (gold) and 25 years (silver) of experience who have made significant contributions, not only to the industry, but to their communities in the region. These leaders helped shape the past, present and continue to influence the future of the broadcast industry.
student awards programs - natas southeast chapter offers mentor events, one-on-one mentoring and scholarships for high school and college student and student production awards that encourage the pursuit of excellence in video production and focuses public attention on outstanding achievements produced by high school students. Scholarship sponsorship program - natas southeast chapter solicits scholarship funds to be awarded to outstanding high school and college students based on essay and video submissions. Excellence in my market awards program - natas southeast chapter seeks to offer awards recognizing television excellence produced in markets 75 and above. Entries are held to the same standard of excellence exemplified by the national television academy's emmy(r) awards, yet are judged only by qualified peer judges from similar sized television markets in other natas chapters. Mentor connect - natas southeast chapter hosted a mentoring event that included 5 different media related panels for students, both college and high school. Each panel had a guest speaker that worked in a specific media field. Each student selected three panels to attend and then had lunch afterward with the panel hosts. This program was discontinued during 2017. Member events & mixers - natas southeast chapter hosts a variety of professional development and educational programs as wells as networking opportunities to its members.
