Causes: Philanthropy, Public Foundations
Mission: To provide opportunities for the washington state chapter of the naiop and its members to engage in service projects to benefit nonprofit organizations and public institutions that improve the quality of life in the state and to provide financial support to students and academic institutions in the field of commerical real estate.
Programs: Community enhancement projects - since 1990, members have made financial contributions, donated construction materials, and given hours of their time and labor to make naiop's community enhancement projects successful. Past projects have included ryther child center, where we provided painting, fence building, new playground, and shed construction for troubled kids and teens trying to rebuild their lives; des moines state beach park included construction of salmon observation platforms at a local waterway; and the construction of fences at an area park, and the restoration of the senior center; and seattle children's home which included renovation of the gymnasium and teen center for troubled youths.
nexus is a program targeted at minority high school students in the puget sound to introduce them to careers in commercial real estate. In partnership with the university of washington, nexus and amazon, 20 high school students learned about commercial real estate over two days in nov. 2017.
