Causes: Homeless & Housing, Temporary Housing
Mission: Our success is being written in the lives that pass through our doors. Our calling is to share the joy of god's grace, mercy, and greatness in a genuinely compassionate manner. In this way, we provide services of tranquility, transformation, and transition to single women and their children in the context of communal transitional homes
Programs: We served four women and their four children this year and continued to establish partnerships with local women's and children's ministries. One of those ministries is a national christian faith based organization called safe families, a private foster care ministry. One current resident enrolled in a local community college and will be graduating in the spring of 2018 with a drug & alcohol counseling degree. A story of redemption; bound by past drug & alcohol abuse to becoming a counselor/advocate for those struggling with those same issues. We are providing support services (financial and mentoring) outside the context of our physical location. City of washington, il, home town of msh, continues to be a strong supporter of the ministry. We have concluded that our success is being written in the lives of those who pass through our doors. We believe, like we always have, our ministry calling is to plant seeds of grace, mercy, and goodness ever so tenderly, genuinely, authentically, and then leave the blessing of increase to christ jesus.
