This private elementary school (preK-8th) in Hoboken, New Jersey, gives $1 million in grants each year to families in need. The program weaves education, faith, art, music and service together in a unique and highly effective way. The result is changed lives, stronger families, and better communities. I toured the school in 2001 (with the Head of School at that time, a friend), was immediately drawn to their mission and began donating to their financial aid fund. A year later I started helping the school raise money, and was then asked to join their Board of Trustees in 2006. I am currently honored and privileged to be the President for the Mustard Seed School Board of Trustees. It is truly a miraculous environment that I hope will be emulated more often around the country. When you see Mustard Seed in person, you find yourself feeling and saying "This is how education should work!". Please visit their website, www.mustardseedschool.org, contact the school for a tour (if you are in the area), and consider making a donation to their financial aid fund.
