Wonderful wonderful musical center, but getting very very busy and full now and it's important for the center to stick strictly to all deadlines to run smoothly, no exceptions. Read the website carefully, including all the fine prints and do NOT miss any deadline. Otherwise you will find out to your detriment that things won't go as planned and there is zero wiggle room or any grace period even for honest mistakes.
I have really enjoyed participating in various workshops at Music Center. I also love attending concerts there. It's great to have a performance space in our neighborhood with a wide variety of concerts.
The Music center of the Northwest is a great way to promote music in the community. I have taken lessons ans have enjoyed the experience of learning there.
I am happy that I get the opportunity to support the efforts of Music Center. They provide a great service by having programs for people of all ages and abilities. I look forward to one day taking part as well.
My experience with Music Center has been fantastic. I'm currently a board member with a four year old daughter taking Music Together clasees. Because she sings / plays music night and day, I can safely say the staff at Music Center is fantastic.
I returned to violin playing when my children were taking music lesons. I took lessons myself and played in a community orchestra, but felt I was not learning enough. Through friends I asked to join the string orchestra (Hildman Strings) at Music Center. Then I took lessons there and participated in chamber music wokshops, finding this my favorite activity. They asked me to join the Board of Directors, which I did.
"Judy has more enthusiasm and less talent than any student I've had in my 30 years as a piano teacher" said my 5th grade music teacher! I was crushed, and put music on the back burner for the next 40+ years. At some point I realized that enthusiasm has taken me much further than piano could have done, and I decided to re-engage with music. The Music Center of the Northwest welcomed me, a recovering non-musical music-loving woman. Voice lessons with Kristen Ramer over a year's time supported me to full voice. I love being on the Advisory Board, attending concerts, and events. Finding my voice and being able to use it is a joy. Thank you!
After the birth of my second child, I struggled to find a way to make time to play the piano as I had since I was a child. The structure of lessons seemed a good bet, I heard about MCNW, and I found an excellent teacher there. My younger children then took Music Together, and my older child requested a class, too. She enjoyed a group intro piano class but was enchanted by a practicing violin the next studio over. She has been playing violin ever since, and her siblings have followed suit -- all at MCNW.
We have been going as a family to the Center for the past 3 years and it has been a great experience for us a family and for each of us individually. The quality of teaching is excellent and there also is a feeling of community that makes us return every week. All of our teachers have been awesome. Thank you!
My kids took the Music Together class when just toddlers and are now teenagers taking piano. The staff is wonderful, the teaching is excellent, and the ensemble opportunities numerous. I recommend Music Center of the NW to both kids and adults alike!
MCNW is made up of a great group of professionally trained teachers & administrators. Both of my daughters took private lessons thru the Center, I've been part of a choir for the last 4 years & my husband is part of a semi-professional sax group that has performed at Music Center.
This is a great organization which provides excellent music instruction of all types for all ages. My entire family has benefitted greatly from MCNW.
This is a valuable organization in the greater Seattle community, because it serves people at all levels of music skill, from beginner to advanced. There are ensembles and individual instruction. The Womens Chorale, of which I'm a part, has an excellent director and attracts talented and congenial women. I enjoy the chance to learn more about singing, learning challenging music and having the chance to perform.
