Mission: The MMA was originally started to address issues and needs of the community. In 1969 the MMA expanded service to the community by est. the Christian Lay Council. In 1993 the MMA est. the acts: 13 program to address homeless issues during the flood of '93. These three organizations work in cooperation to continue addressing the needs and issues of the community and the residents of Murphysboro and surrounding communities. The MMA and the CLC move to a new site, establish the Grace Food Pantry, and prepare to begin accepting Second Harvest Commodities for distribution to southern Illinois food pantries. acts:13, nears completion of feasibility study on hotel, plans to begin renovation and finalize architects plans are 75% done.
