Causes: Arts & Culture, Cultural & Ethnic Awareness
Mission: The mica group's mission is to connect tribal governments and indigenous communities with the people and resources they need to reach their goals. By honoring cultural diversity and indigenous ways of knowing, we seek to create a just, humane, and sustainable world.
Programs: 1. Managed 326 grants to 198 tribal nations and 41 states to protect 198 sacred, cultural, and historic sites, revitalize 38 native languages, and reestablish 90 american indian cultural education programs. 2. Hosted a national conference, protecting our places, attended by 65 tribal nations. 3. Created a national strategic plan for native language revitalization, nations rising: a plan for transformational educational equity for native children through language and cultural education
