Mission: The shelter's mission is to provide exceptional care for homeless animals, to promote spaying and neutering, microchipping and humane education, and to place homeless cats and dogs in permanent, loving homes.
Results: Over the past 53 years, Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter has been a steadfast advocate for homeless animals, providing exceptional care and facilitating countless adoptions. In 2024 alone, the shelter achieved significant milestones: Community Foundation of New Jersey 1,056 adoptions: Finding loving homes for over a thousand cats and dogs. 677 animals fostered: Offering temporary care and rehabilitation through dedicated foster families. 22,436 volunteer hours: Reflecting the community's commitment to animal welfare. 250+ animals rescued from euthanasia: Partnering with shelters nationwide to save at-risk animals. 3,000 pounds of food and supplies donated: Supporting local organizations and ensuring animals' basic needs are met. These accomplishments underscore Mt. Pleasant's unwavering dedication to creating a community where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved. Through adoption, fostering, and community engagement, the shelter continues to provide second chances and build lasting bonds between animals and their families.

Programs: At Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, our mission is to create a clear path home for every homeless cat and dog in our care. As a no-kill, nonprofit organization, we implement comprehensive adoption and placement programs designed to match animals with loving families. We’re proud of the second chances we provide through individualized care, adoption counseling, foster support, and community outreach.
