Causes: Human Services, Neighborhood Centers
Mission: Mt. Carmel provides healthcare, wellness and community spirit through a variety of health, wellness and community programs and events. We promote the rich heritage of las animas county by creating partnerships that not only attract businesses but also cultural and social opportunities. Additionally, with an expansion to colorado springs, we will begin providing services to transitioning military veterans.
Programs: Wellness and community center - individual based program with emphasis on nutrition, physical activity and overall health.
returning heroes - weekend retreats for military veterans returning home from deployment and their spouses. Provide a relaxing and fun environment for couples to connect.
rural philanthropy days - an outside organization which holds non-profit funding conferences around the state every four years. The conferences provide numerous workshops, speakers and other opportunities which bring non-profits and funders together.
