Using a series of best practice guidelines and standard orders, the staff treats patients efficiently and provides the best opportunity for optimal outcomes. The physical therapy staff at morristown-hamblen hospital association specializes in treating a variety of orthopedic, neurologic, and medical problems, with an emphasis on helping individuals overcome disability caused by injury, developmental abnormality, or amputation. The staff provides medical rehabilitation for individuals with neck, lower back, arm and leg injuries; sports and overuse injuries, arthritis, stroke, brain injury, and post-amputation needs. During 2016, the program participated in three community health fairs providing basic screenings and education to the residents of an eight-county service area. Cardiology provided 22,843 diagnostic exams to both in-patient and out-patient populations. Tests included ekg's, echocardiograms, exercise stress, nuclear stress and holter monitoring. Approximately 1,215 diagnostic and interventional cardiac exams were performed utilizing the latest technology in angioplasty, drug eluting stents and closure devices. Approximately 24 peripheral vascular procedures were performed. The cardiopulmonary rehab department provided services to 1,913 patients through phase i, phase ii, and phase iii sessions. Morristown-hamblen added one additional interventional cardiologist to the medical staff in february 2016.
