Mission: The montana preservation alliance (mpa) saves and protects montana's historic places, traditional landscapes, and cultural heritage. We are the only statewide, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing montanans with the resources necessary to preserve our state's unique history and culture.
Programs: Restoration and training:clients served: 150,000 members of communities served and proportion of visitors annually to yellowstone and glacier national parks. Achevements: trained mantenance and nps staff through stabilization of historic cabins in yellowstone and glacier national parks; masonry repairs of territorial buildings, stone schoolhouse and rare brick kilns in helena region.
education and outreach:clients served: 150,000 montana arts community & proportion of visitors to yellowstone national park. Achievements: biennial preservation roadshow conference in red lodge; mt rutual heritage guide development; hosted artist residency program at 5 heritage communities; interpretive texts on montana architecture for national archipedia; technical support for rural communities with threatened properties; trimester newsletter, online preservation guidance for montana audiences.
