I have been associated with this great organization for many years, mainly as a donor and a participant at their fund raisers. Several years ago we moved to a rural part of Mobile county and I became aware of the tragedy of abandoned animals. I don’t know how many dogs I have picked up on my road alone and if it wasn’t for the Mobile SPCA I don’t know what I would have done. They always graciously take in whatever I find. I know that these animals are lovingly taken care of and find good homes. The staff and the volunteers do such an excellent job of taking care of all the animals and also work hard trying to raise funds to continue their efforts since they receive no federal or local government funding. This is a hard working, dedicated group of people who provide much needed services to our community. Please help them in their mission to help God’s creatures.
I have adopted from the Mobile SPCA multiple times and I’m always impressed by the care and concern they have for the animals in their care. Working in an area with an abundance of stray animals and a population that doesn’t routinely spay and neuter their pets it is easy to be overwhelmed and lowering standards would be easy. But they maintain adoption rules for the benefit of the pet which I admire. And they are always trying to find more ways to fund their lifesaving mission. I have supported them for years and will continue to do so…even in my will!
This organization is always gone above and beyond for its animals and their care. Find a small kitten on abandoned on a highway brought it to them as I could not care for it or keep it. They immediately took it in and as it was a small kitten they gave it the care it needed since then volunteered few times to help them and the love the have for animals is above and beyound. Truely a great organization.
Cannot say enough good things about a true team of dedicated volunteers and employees. Everyone is single-mindedly devoting every possible minute to excellent care of the animals under their protection. I am a sustaining member. When you give to the Mobile SPCA or volunteer your time, every penny and every minute is spent thoughtfully and carefully. Hundreds of animals have a second chance and go to new homes every month. The Mobile SPCA works hard for and deserves your support.

This is a great organization with great employees and volunteers. They work tirelessly 24/7 to care for and find homes for all animals in need. I've adopted several dogs from Mobile SPCA and they came to me happy and healthy. Mobile SPCA receives no funding from national humane organizations or local governments. Please support their efforts. They are tirelessly doing a fantastic job.
I adopted 14 year old Bella from the MSPCA twelve years ago. She’s a treasure and very much loved.
Placing the right dog with the right family is what they’re all about. Every dog matters!

I’m proud to be associated with the MSPCA.
I have volunteered with the Mobile SPCA for decades and I don't ever plan to stop. Lots of folks will volunteer here and there, but when you find a non-profit that just "fits", it becomes a family, and we never bail on our families. In our area, the Mobile SPCA means something more than most other animal rescue groups. We don't just take in relinquished pets from those who are unwilling or unable to care for them. We actively pull animals from our local municipal shelters to help them with overcrowding. And then with assistance from ASPCA, Wings of Rescue, and other well-respected receiving shelters, transport animals from Alabama where these same pets might remain unadopted for weeks, months or even years. Our receiving shelters are able to find wonderful, vetted homes for these deserving dogs in mere days. In the last couple of years, the Mobile SPCA has transported over 2000 dogs and helped to move dogs and cats from municipal shelters in Mobile and Baldwin counties. And we are still going strong! We have an enormous pool of volunteers who we can always count on to help, and staff that works far beyond "regular business hours". We find out what works for us, we do it, and then we keep finding new and better ways so we can continue to improve the services we offer our community animals. I am proud to tell folks that I am a Mobile SPCA volunteer.

When you find a group or charity that you respect and appreciate for all their hard work and what they do for our community, there's no reason to ever stop volunteering for them! That's why I've been with the Mobile SPCA for decades. We have a reputation in our area for going above and beyond for homeless animals and the people who love them. I am proud to tell folks that I am a Mobile SPCA volunteer and plan to always be one. They embody everything that "works" and are always trying to find even more ways to help our community animals and those who make them a part of their lives.
Great group of dedicated professionals who really care about the animals.

The MSPCA staff are dedicated and hard working. They help the community with strays, spay and neuter, injured animals and re-homing efforts. They have volunteers from all walks of life that are welcome anytime they are open. Their animals are well cared for and "long-timers" are promoted in an effort to find them a forever home. They have a great presence on social media, especially Facebook, with both a lost and found page and a general info page.

The staff and volunteers are outstanding. Very dedicated people who work so hard to help earn money to pay the bills while the animals and their owners keep coming in seeking help. Placing animals through adoptions & transports and spay neuter assistance and surgery assistance are just some of the services they offer. I have adopted a dog and cat from there.
The staff and director are dedicated, caring and hardworking. Animals are loved and cared for.

Great organization with a great staff and group of very dedicated volunteers! We worked hard to survive the pandemic and are now working even harder to survive the aftermath. Got my latest boy from the Mobile SPCA. He's as perfect as all of the MSPCA animals.
I adopted my kitty from the Mobile SPCA two years ago! It’s a fantastic organization that’s run by the best, most hard-working people I’ve ever met. They love animals and make so many sacrifices to support them.
The volunteers at the Mobile SPCA are so hard-working and dedicated! They are a pleasure to work with. Even though they all come from different walks of life they work together for the betterment of the animals in the MSPCA's care. SOme help with fundraising, some run the resale shop and some help with cleaning and socializing the animals. Please consider volunteering. Cat in photo - Nehi is our Re-sale Shop kitty and mascot!
I've worked for years at animal rescue foundations, but this one is unique. What makes it unique is not just the dedication of staff and volunteers, but the comradery of both. This makes it an exceptional joy to work to help abused, neglected and lost animals. There isn't a better place to volunteer because the volunteers are respected for their dedication and work. It's a team. What else could you ask for?
Several years ago I studied online in the Animal Behavior College (ABC) for a Cat Trainer Certificate. The curriculum required 100 sessions socializing and training cats in a professional residential kennel. The Mobile SPCA welcomed me to work the 100 sessions with their cats! With the help of Mobile SPCA, I finished with a full certification as an ABC Cat Trainer Certificate. My hours with Mobile SPCA cats were the beginning of me volunteering at the Rummage Sales, working in the SPCA Resale Shop, and socializing cats (along with the faithful office staff) to improve the cats' chances of being adopted to a permanent home! Everyone knows why we are there....for the animals.... paid staff and volunteers all work together for the animals!!!! Definitely an organization and location deserving of all donations and volunteer hours!!!!! I love Mobile SPCA. My youngest kitten was adopted from our kennel!
I have been a volunteer with the Mobile SPCA for quite a few years. I started by helping to walk dogs during PetSmart pet adoption days. It moved to working at the Second Chance Retail Store once a month, helping at the biannual rummage sales, cleaning cat kennels at PetSmart weekly and helping in the office when I can. I will continue to volunteer with this organization as long as I can as they are an honest and hard working group of dedicated people and appreciate all the help they can get. They do a lot of good work for this community and the animals they help.

There couldn't be a better group of ladies who give their blood, sweat and tears to the animals at the Mobile SPCA. They work tirelessly to take in as many animals as they can, care for them and find forever homes for each and every one, including their transport program to northern shelters. I have worked as a volunteer with them for approximately 10 years and have always felt appreciated for the time I have put in with their various events and opportunities. I have walked dogs, visited the youth detention center with my dog, fostered dogs, and cleaned cat kennels for the cats at PetSmart. Currently, I volunteer once a month in the second hand store where all donations are sold and every cent goes to the shelter/clinic for the animals and work their bi-annual rummage sales. That is only a fraction of what the SPCA has to offer in volunteer opportunities, and they truly appreciate ANY help they can get!
Best shelter ever.....friendly, cooperative, great place to volunteer and such wonderful furry friends to love on. I've been a volunteer for many years and I choose to spend my off hours there. I will be retiring soon and plan on donating much more of my time with these folks. They are just fine people to be around and work with, and their care for each animals is absolutely amazing. The money you donate is used for the animals and that means a lot to someone who doesn't have a lot to spare.

I have had the pleasure of volunteering, fostering and adopting from Mobile SPCA for a number of years and I cannot say enough about how the organization is managed, the care given to each and every animal, the quality of animals they rescue and the attention they pay to anyone wanting to adopt. It is an amazing facility, they work very hard to keep their standards up and they succeed. I would not give my time, energy and money to this organization if it was not what it is; a very worthwhile and worthy nonprofit!
Great people to work with, I have bottle fostered puppies for them from time to time and they are always no nice and easy to work with. They pair so many dogs with loving families, its absolutely wonderful!
The Mobile SPCA has an amazing and dedicated Director, Janine Woods and an amazing and dedicated staff with the overarching mission of helping animals. Each animal is given the care and support needed to be healthy and happy before being sent to scrupulously chosen forever homes.

The Mobile SPCA gets a million votes of support from me - and a sustaining membership. Every penny, every staff minute, and every volunteer minute goes to animal welfare. The staff are well-trained, up-to-date on best shelter practices and work tirelessly for the best possible outcome for every animal in their care. I have visited many shelters and this is the best-run ever. Mobile SPCA is an asset to our community.
I have rescued several cats over the past few years from the Mobile SPCA and found the staff and volunteers to be true animal people, very helpful, always courteous, and just good folks. Their animals are in good condition, they maintain the facility very well, the cages are always clean and the cats friendly. You can tell they feel safe (cats not folks) and not fearful.
I have adopted all 3 of my dogs from the Mobile SPCA. They are great people that are so caring of the animals and strive to make sure they are placed with the best families! I am so appreciative of their hard work and dedication and I do my best to volunteer with them whenever possible!

I adopted my first dog, Stella, from the Mobile SPCA in 2006 and since then, have adopted 2 more fur babies, all of which I absolutely adore! About 8 years ago, I began volunteering because I wanted to be a part of the wonderful things they were doing. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and volunteers at the Mobile SPCA. The love, compassion and dedication for the animals they rescue is evident in all that they do. I am extremely proud and fortunate to be associated with such a wonderful group and all the animals they go above and beyond to help!
I love volunteering with the Mobile SPCA. Great team of dedicated staff and volunteers who care for the animals.

I have adopted 3 cats from the Mobile SPCA. They have been wonderful additions to my large family. The staff and volunteers at the Mobile SPCA are great! They do a great job at keeping the animals as clean and healthy as possible. They truly have the animals best interest at heart and place them into wonderful homes that fit for each animal.
I volunteer here. Wonderful compassionate people who work very hard for all of the animals in their care.
I am a photographer in the Mobile area. I love everything about photography. Several years ago, I gwas informed that the Mobile SPCA needed someone to take photographs of their dogs and cats to help them get adopted. I sent an email to Janine Woods, Executive Director of the Mobile SPCA and she was happy that I would volunteer to be their photographer.
On the first day I arrived at the Mobile SPCA I had mixed emotions about what I may be about to see in the facility. However, I was amazed how clean and well kept this facility is. These people genuinely care about the health, safety, well being and plight of the animals in their care. The animals all receive vet care, spay/neuter, food, love, exercise and special individualized attention.
The Mobile SPCA has been the victim of scandalous accusations, theft and any other issues you can imagine. Some people, that are not accepted for the adoption of an animal, get angry and lash out. However, the Mobile SPCA scrutinizes their applicants and choose the best home and environment for every animal in their care. They do their very best to insure that these animals will be going to their forever home with love, vet care, safety and security.
I have also adopted a pup from the Mobile SPCA and am so grateful that they are in our area to rescue and rehome these wonderful pets.
Don’t shop. . . please adopt!
I have volunteered at Mobile Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals since 1997. I have seen this organization grow from struggling to place a few dogs and cats to finding forever homes for hundreds of pets every year, both locally and through transport to shelters in the north. Our organization has done great work under the leadership of our Executive Director, Janine Woods, and the hard work of a small staff and many volunteers. I am proud to be a part of this organization.

I have volunteered with the Mobile SPCA for over 20 years. I have seen it grow from a small organization that placed a few dogs and cats a year to what it is today where hundreds of dogs and cats find forever homes annually. Janine Woods, our Executive Director, has brought our organization from its small beginning to the great success that we enjoy today. Janine has inspired many volunteers to join her in making a difference to the dogs and cats in the Mobile area through local adoption, spay neuter programs. transporting dogs to the northern areas where they can find eager adopters, etc. I'm proud to be a small part of this fine organization.
The Mobile SPCA is responsible for connecting us with Pepper, our endlessly sweet, 4-year-old hound mix. Pepper had been abandoned the previous month and, when found, she tested positive for heartworms. The SPCA made the adoption process incredibly easy and was able to provide direction and encouragement to our concerns about adopting a heartworm-positive dog.
Today, Pepper is heartworm free and is one of the happiest dogs in the world -- her tail hardly ever stops wagging!
great dogs & cats, have adopted all my animals for the past 12 years from the Mobile SPCA.
The staff is very kind & friendly. Facility is always clean and the animals are well cared for

I have been volunteering at the Mobile SPCA for years because I believe in the organization and the work they do. Everyone there is dedicated and do the best they possibly can to get the animals new homes. I work in the rummage area where we raise money with two sales a year. I also sell items that were donated to Mobile SPCA on eBay to raise extra money.
These folks were wonderful, helpful, engaging, happy to be helpful and their cats were just beautiful. I adopted a young Siamese who unfortunately had had an eye infection but was on the recovery road. He is such a joy, playful, energetic, beautiful and in great health. He came with all his information, a small bag of kitten food, a goody bag, shots, tags and micro chipped, what a great deal. His new name is Lotus and he will be loved so very much, thanks again to Mobile SPCA!!
I first volunteered in the late 80's when the office was on Glenwood St. My life got so busy that I wasn't able to continue, but returned about 4 years ago and have tried to do my share in volunteering. I adopted my chiweenie 13 years ago and last year a mixed chihuahua from the MSPCA. The staff and other volunteers are committed to their job and are wonderful to work with!! I know we can't do it all, but what we do is with love and hope that we can make a difference!
I have been volunteering for this organization for the last 5 years or so and continue to be faithful due to what I see transpiring there. I have seen animals in the worst conditions due to neglect, abuse or abandonment come back to life and go on to a furever, loving home. I have adopted there myself and can’t tell you how much it has changed my life. I love coming home to my Rama who’s is nicknamed the “Parrot Cat”. As soon as I walk into the door, he is jumping up onto my shoulders where he lays his head down and purrs loudly. I am a happy cat mom and it is all due to the Mobile SPCA!
My relationship with the Mobile SPCA began in 2007 when I adopted an English Springer Spaniel at one of their offsite adoption events. I have been consistently impressed with their dedication to homeless animals in our community. They work side by side with our municipal shelters and breed rescue groups to find homes for so many unwanted animals in South Alabama. Their staff has always been accommodating and very professional. I have also been excited to see them expand their use of social media to promote adoption and to reunite lost pets with their owners. They have consistently sought out funding via grants to help provide spay-neuter assistance to the citizens of Mobile as well as partner with other high quality animal adoption agencies in other areas of the country. We are very fortunate to have the Mobile SPCA in our community.
