Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal-Related, Animals

Mission: MHCR is a 501(c)(3) organization that was founded by Michelle Holmes back in 2011 with the vision of saving the lives of dogs in danger. Our mission is to save the lives of dogs that are on the euthanasia list at the City Shelter, take in those no longer wanted by their families and give them a place to stay until a loving permanent home is found. While at MHCR they receive care, love, time and attention that every pet needs. With this they become wonderful companions in their permanent forever homes.

We adopted Rocket a month ago. Michelle was wonderful to work with. Sent us lots of pics. When we received in in CT he was in wonderful condition with all his papers and shots. He is such a joy for me and my wife. He has added such energy to both of us. He was a growing puppy and so cute.

I met Michelle and found out about her rescue. WE adopted Snowflake and she is such a great addition to our family. Everyone at the rescue were so helpful in making sure we were the right fit. We love her so much and she is extremely spoiled

Missy's Haven is a great canine rescue organization! My husband and I adopted the sweetest/smartest pup from here last year. She is now a year old and loves hiking, running as fast as a gazelle, taking naps on the sofa, and visiting her grandma and doggo friends. Two of my coworkers adopted pups out of the same litter, so they're all still friends. Missy's Haven is a great nonprofit that helps save lives!

We met these fine ladies at Petco when they were having an Adoption Day with their rescue dogs. After talking with them we decided it was time for another dog in the family. We like the Shih Tzu breed and they had some wonderful little dogs that needed a home. We adopted three ( counting Willie Weizer, whom we loved so much). These little dogs bring us so much love and happiness each day. The women at Missys Haven Canine Rescue do a fantastic job with these animals. Thank you ladies for all that you do.

Back in January 2017 we decided to check out adoption event Missy’s was hosting. We saw the tiniest puppy and fell in love. Everyone was so helpful and since it was our first pet, they gave suggestions on feedings and daily routines. We named her Arbor and she is the sweetest puppy ever! We love her so much. I highly recommend adopting your pet with them!

We adopted Milo 1 yr ago. He has been the best dog. He is sweet, smart, loving, and funny. He is a 20 lbs Shih Tzu that thinks he's a 100 lbs Golden Retriever like his brother. They are best friends and snuggle buddies made for each other. Missy's is awesome and we are so lucky to have Milo! Thanks Missy's! Happy rescue birthday Milo!
