Mission: To support the mission and programs of mission hospital, inc. , mission health system, inc. And its related tax exempt organizations - mission corporations - and of other organizations that are tax exempt under the provisions of 501(c)(3) of the code or the corresponding provisions of any future united states internal revenue law, and that work to benefit the community and region served by the mission corporations through development of board and member approved cases for support that align with the strategic priorities of mission health system, inc.
Programs: The organization continued the capital campaign for supporting construction of mission's hospital for advanced medicine, while also continuing to provide funds from the previous capital campaign for mission hospital's cancer center. Additionally, restricted funds provided capital for the purchase of various medical equipment items for the system.

Programs supported preconception health education, teratology information and multivitamin distribution for women of child-bearing age. The "ladies night out" program provided free mammograms and health screenings for women in buncombe county 40-64 who are uninsured/underinsured. Grant funding continued to build out a framework of care for pregnant women and infants exposed to substances (drugs and alcohol) and provide evidence-based weaning protocols and education/information to families, healthcare professionals and regional community agencies that serve patients affected by perinatal substance exposure. Children's outreach programs continued to receive supportive funding to address regional asthma services; provide pediatric dental services through the toothbus, providing comprehensive oral healthcare for underserved children in rural areas as well as a robust inpatient surgical program for children with extensive dental needs; children and their families were also supported through the family support network for families facing the daily realities of parenting a special needs child; also, child life, an integral program of mission children's hospital to help children and their families cope with the stress and uncertainty of illness, injury and treatment.

The foundation of this program, a longitudinal integrated curriculum, places a cohort of students in mission to allow them to follow patients in all health care settings. The community benefited from a physician volunteer program that provides comprehensive care to low-income uninsured residents of the region. Virtual care (telehealth) expanded its services for tele-stroke and tele-psychiatry into primary care clinics across the system. Personalized medicine testing, which helps predict what drugs might be most effective and/or have the least side effects to treat a patient's condition, was also expanded into primary care clinics. Support was provided for the mission rathbun house,a hospitality house that offers lodging to patients and their caregivers coming to the region for medical treatment. Grant funds were received for providing chronic disease education and awareness for rural underserved residents who are prediabetic or diabetic. Grants funded the medication assistance program (map), a program designed to meet the needs of patients who cannot afford medications required to treat or care for their chronic health problems. Coordination of care is also provided by map for many patients who are taking multiple medications and at-risk for adverse reactions as a result of drug interactions. Also of note, mission continued its grant-funded participation in the state-wide multidisciplinary medical assistance teams who provide mobile medical and logistical support for short and long term disasters or catastrophic events.
