Programs: Program: in september 2013, we produced one of our most challenging works to date, the pittsburgh premiere of tobias picker's thrilling opera, therese raquin. Therese raquin was produced as a collaboration with capa high school's theater department, as well as a close working relationship with composer tobias picker, who was in attendance on closing night. Therese raquin was the first microscopic production to use video / film installations, and this huge success began a new partnership with film maker, joe seamans, who continues to work with microscopic in this capacity. Therese raquin was produced at capa theater, september 13, 15, 17, 19 and 21 at 8pm (7pm sunday). Director, gregory lehane. Music director, andres cladera.
night of the living dead, the world premiere opera, was written for the microscopic opera company, and produced as a collaboration with composer, todd goodman and librettist, stephen catanzarite. Working closely with the writers, we refined the score and libretto during the rehearsal process, the culmination of which was a very successful run of public performances at kelly strayhorn theater in pittsburgh's east liberty neighborhood.
