My name is Tony Boutté and I became involved with the Miami Bach Society soon after I moved to Miami as Assistant Professor of Music at UM's Frost School of Music. In my capacity as performer and board member, I've had many occasions to see MBS in action. The people who run this organization are passionate and extremely dedicated to presenting top-tier music to Miami audiences. This past year, we had a devastating loss as longtime supporter Kathy Gaubatz passed away. Soon afterward, it became clear that her dream for MBS would not die. Members of the organization banded together to make the MBS even stronger than it was before. If you are unfamiliar with MBS and have never gone to any of their concerts, I strongly suggest you make the effort to hear one soon. Your presence will show support for this organization and its mission to present the finest baroque to Miami audiences. Thanks you. Tony Boutté

A premier presenter of classical music in south Florida. Consistently bringing top talent from around the world to local venues. Also, the frequently pair with local universities to present concerts with student artists.
It is difficult to give an unbiased review of this organization, because our assessment is so profoundly affected by the many years' of wonderful Baroque and Early music we have been privileged to hear, performed by world class ensembles and soloists, brought to local venues by the Bach Society. As audience members we have had the opportunity often to converse and interact with the performers at post concert receptions, and as volunteers, we have been able to engage with our performing guests, both foreign and domestic, away from the concert hall. From the mundane tasks of transporting them to and from the airport, or looking after their centuries old instruments, to more esoteric pursuits like trips to the Everglades, the Venetian Pool or a fortuitous encounter with 4 mother manatees and their babies in the Coral Gables waterway, to shopping trips at Best Buy, we have enjoyed the company of intelligent, appealing artists in their capacities, inevitably, as tourists from Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, England and domestic zip codes physically and culturally distant and different from Miami. As the Bach Society enters a new year with new leadership, an ambitious but realistic outreach program and a line up of wonderful concerts during the annual Tropical Baroque Festival, we are pleased to do what we can to help insure that they will be bringing great music to our community for many more years......Joel and Emily Rosenthal
I came to the Miami Bach Society fifteen years ago to play a concert at their Tropical baroque Music Festival. I made friends immediately with the amazing team that ran the organization. We developed a very close working relationship, and I soon took up a position in an advisory role. This role has brought me in close contact with a very wonderful community, from which I have drawn many friends, thanks to the amazing widespread ties the Society has established since its beginning and continues to nurture and expand upon. In addition to our regular concert activities we have brought music to public schools, shopping centers, Chamber of Commerce meetings and brought the expertise of visiting performers to local universities. Bringing music to so many different elements of of the diversified community is a task we have accepted with joy, and our reward is seeing , visibly, the good it does. We hope to widen our efforts to bring music to a younger public through new programs, some of which are already in development.
This is a wonderful organization. I have had the pleasure of attending several events and concerts that the Miami Bach Society has hosted and the have all been outstanding.
I am a supporter and I feel very happy that there is an organization that is dedicated to this very important time in music.
As a volunteer, I experienced first hand the professionalism and passion that is exhibited at every event. Miami is lucky to have an organization that cares so deeply about keeping Classical music alive, and does so in a very inviting yet refined manner.
The Miami Bach Society brings to our community an array of early music featuring top rated soloists as well as ensembles and orchestras and its Tropical Baroque Musical Festival is an experience not to be missed. Our community has benefited greatly from the richness of music of this early period and we as the audience attest to its greatness by continuing to attend the performances and rave about the quality of programming. The Christmas program every year is wonderful. Great organization, thank you for bringing great music to our town.
About 25 years ago, my wife and I bid on a subscription to the Miami Bach Society at an auction benefitting our son's school. We already had an interest in early music but we were delighted by the concerts we attended and continued to subscribe and to donate to the MBS. About 5 years ago my wife and I were invited to join the board of the MBS and we accepted. About 2 years ago we were named joint vice chairs of the board.
In October of this past year our beloved executive director passed away and we found ourselves acting as joint chairs of the board of the MBS. Some thought the MBS would not survive the death of our executive director but many chipped in and we have not only survived but have been able to present the finest early music to an ever growing public. This year we presented Avi Avital and the Venice Baroque, Fuoco e Cenere, Stile Antico and concluded with Les Arts Florissants. Next year we expect an equally brilliant program. We invite the interested public to become members of the society and to attend our concerts. We also have outreach programs that will be announced on our website. We look forward to a spectacular year.
I am a father of two beautiful young ladies, ages 9 and 14. On numerous occasions I have attended with my daughters a Miami Bach Society concert. I find not only the music very peaceful and smoothing, but the artists are very interested in sharing their time with the audience, especially children.
My daughters have been able to see, hear, and learn about the original instruments of the Baroque period through direct contact with the artists and staff of the Miami Bach Society. It is a rarity to be able to expose our children to such culturally enriching events and have them experience firsthand the beauty and history of a harpsichord, a viola de gamba, a lute, and many other instruments.
The Miami Bach Society greets audience members of all ages as family. They also invite the audiences to receptions after the concerts with "meet and greet" opportunities. My daughters very much enjoy meeting and taking pictures with the artists after watching them perform.
The Miami Bach Society enriches the lives of South Floridians and our families. We thank you for all the years and all the excellent renowned artists you bring home to us. Did I also mention, children 18 and under attend all of the concerts presented by the Miami Bach Society free of charge.
