The races are annual events and are very successful fundraisers and expand the level of interest in the education of the mercy girls. Sister rose also began doing parish appeals by invitation of parish pastors. Sister rose presents for 10 minutes the mercy story followed by a fund raising appeal. Large and small every parish appeal is successful. In july 2017 a commissioned by christ (cbc) mission trip took 20 missionaries from the arlington diocese to the kenyan campus for a service project assisting in the dormitory construction. A week of service and interacting with the mercy girls was extremely popular and very successful from all perspectives. Cbc and mcf usa has scheduled a 2nd mission trip for july 2018. The cbc makes a large contribution and there is revenue from missionaries room and board to the mercy center. These activities are annual in nature and are all very well documented with videos and photographs for our website to share with all our missionaries, runners, contributors and benefactors.
