Mission: Special education and behavioral connections, inc. Was formed for the principal purpose of providing services to and supporting autistic individuals in the realm of special education through aplied behavioral analysis services, speech, occupational and physical therapies, and behavioral health services specifically designed for individuals on the spectrum.
Programs: Special education and behavioral connections (connections) is an nhs company located in michigan. Connections provides applied behavior analysis (aba) services, diagnostic testing, functional behavior assessments (fba), and family trainings to individuals and their families. Connections is currently providing home and center-based services in wayne and genesee counties. It is expanding services to kent county with an additional home and center-based program planning to open in may of 2018. During fy '17, connections provided their services to over 150 individuals ages 2-21. Out of all students who were discharged from programming in that same year, 100% of them successfully completed programming and transferred to a lower level of clinical care. Transfer of skills to caregivers and other settings is a priority for the program. Families were offered weekly family training and the year ended with 9% of trainings available utilized. To date, family training attendance increased to an average of 22% of training available utilized each month (range 13-28%). Moving into the next fiscal year, connections will be adding social skills groups and group family training to the services offered.
